Questions about hardlinks, alternate storage and compression]

To me, this seems a _very_ important feature, and I wonder if I am doing something wrong or if the feature (hardlink+sieve) simply does not exists. Hardlink+Sieve has never worked. The fix is a bit complicated. Here's my

Wildcard for indexing?
Hi, I'd like to know if it is possible to use wildcards * for indexing... E.g. I have a vector of strings. Now I'd like to select all elements which start with A_*? I'd also need to combine that with logical operators: "Select all elements of a vector that start with A (A*) OR that start with B (B*)" Probably that is quite easy. I looked into grep() which I think might

VPN As SIP Tunneling?
Hi All Could a VPN be used to help with SIP Tunneling and QoS issues. State 1: Two IP Networks Connected via the Public Internet transmitting VoIP Traffic Say a VoIP User and VoIP Termination Provider. Each side can put QoS onto their part, but if QoS does NOT exist between them then call quality will be bad anyhow. State 2: Same as above except a VPN tunnel is setup between each side. Thus

memdisk : booting OpenBSD and NetBSD
hi there. I'm trying to boot several OSes floppy images from a cdrom via memdisk. Actually, Linux and FreeBSD boots fine, but, while i'm using the same method, I couldn't get into booting netbsd nor openbsd. The boot process seems to hang up, in those two cases, when the second stage native bootloader try to load the kernel (i'm not absolutely sure about this). The native first

Generating time progressing line for Google Earth
Dear, I am trying to visualise a time-progressing line (it's supposed to represent spread patterns) using brew package and Google Earth. The idea is to have a function which takes start and end point geographic coordinates, as well as number of intervals to chop the path up, and returns the collection of points segmenting this line. Unfortunately my calculations fail for large distances,

Tobit model and an error message
Dear R users: I am using survreg for modeling left censored longitudinal data. When I am using the following code for fitting the tobit model I am getting some output with an warning message(highlighted with red color): > survreg(Surv(y, y>=0, type='left')~x + frailty(id), cytokine.data, weight=w, dist='gaussian', scale=1) Call: survreg(formula = Surv(y, y >= 0, type

Trying to do a simple thing ...
Hi ! I was talking to a seasider and he asked me if it was easy to do the following thing using rails : 1) ask a number to the user 2) ask a second number 3) give the addition of the two number and a link to be able to replay All these things have to be done in one controller and one action, there is no need for verification and other stuff. I tried but I''ve got some problems

Questions about hardlinks, alternate storage and compression]
Hi all, I have some updates on the hard-link discussion. First, let me explain that I installed a test machine with CentOS 7.1 and dovecot/pigeonhole version 2.2.10-4 and the results where identical on what I had on CentOS 6.7 and dovecot 2.0.9-19 The bottom line is that hardlinking works only when no, or at most only one, RCPT have sieve filtering. For example: - if no RCPT has sieve

Hi Timo, glad to know it is in your TODO list ;) Any rough ETA on that? Thanks. handling of dynamic filecontent creation
Hi list! In the light of my personal "Simon is dumping his problems on others"-week I have a question regarding.. dunno.. generally "handling of dynamic filecontent creation" I think is the best to describe it: We use a lot of in-house built services (for arguments sake webservers) which are instantiable and bring their own "framework" for setup, so I created

Memory limitation in GeoR - Windows or R?
Dear Aaron, I am really a tool user and not a tool maker (actually an ecologist doing some biostatistics)... so, I take the liberty of sending a copy of this e-mail to the r-help list where capable computer persons and true statisticians may provide more relevant information and also to Paulo Ribeiro and Peter Diggle, the authors of geoR.. I really feel that your huge matrix cannot be
