inequality with NA
Dear everybody! take a<-c(5,3,NA,6). if(a[1]!=NA){b<-7} if(a[3]!=5){b<-7} if(a[3]!=NA){b<-7} if(a[3]==NA){b<-7} will alltogeather return Fehler in if (a[1] != NA) { : Fehlender Wert, wo TRUE/FALSE n?tig ist (or simularly). Somehow this is logical. But how else should I get out, whether a certain vector-component has an existing value? Thank you in advance! Yours, Mag. Ferri

I have the following data: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=00083355432555420222 I want to fit a mixture density of two normal distributions. I have the formula: f(l)=πϕ(l;μ1,σ21)+(1−π)ϕ(l;μ2,σ22) my R code is: normalmix<-normalmixEM(dat,k=2,fast=TRUE) pi<-normalmix$lambda[1] mu1<-normalmix$mu[1]

Zoomable chart
Hi, I would like to create an interactive bubble chart from a Rails- based database. I''ve spent quite a lot of time browsing the posts both here and on rubyforums for similar queries, but haven''t really found a definitive answer yet. I would like each point to be clickable, and would like users to be able to zoom and navigate within the chart. We would prefer not to use Flash for

Fitting a Triangular Distribution to Bivariate Data
Hello, I have some xy data which clearly shows a non-monotonic, peaked triangular trend. You can get an idea of what it looks like with: x<-1:20 y<-c(2*x[1:10]+1,-2*x[11:20]+42) I've tried fitting a quadratic, but it just doesn't the data-structure with the break point adequately. Is there anyway to fit a triangular or 'tent' function to my data in R? Some sample code

Error with Rcmd check library --as-cran
Hello all, I was checking the newest update of my library before submitting it to CRAN, using R 2.15.0 and Rtools for Windows 215 using Rcmd in the Command Prompt, on my x64 Windows7 laptop. I recently heard that for checking packages for CRAN submission one should use the option --as-cran; previously I was submitting packages, so I was trying that for the first time. The check proceeds fine

Help Files Now Load in the Internet Browser?
Hello, I recently had to reinstall R on my windows machine, because MASS mysteriously vanished from my packages list. Before, when I used help(), the files would load in a Windows help window. Now, the help files load in my internet browser, which actually is problematic because I always made use of the contents/topics list to browse the help files in the Windows Help window. ("I don't

Two math expressions in plot
Hello! I am trying to put two math expressions in the title of a plot. As you can see below, I can place correctly one expression at a time, but not both. Ideally I would like to have them separated by a comma. Any suggestions? > k <- 1 > n.eff <- c(20, 30) > ### this works > plot(0,0, main = substitute(n == k, list(k = k))) > ### this works > plot(0,0, main =
