large packet support in netfront driver and guest network throughput
Hi All, I am sure this has been answered somewhere in the list in the past, but I can''t find it. I was wondering if the linux guest netfront driver has GRO support in it. tcpdump shows packets coming in with 1500 bytes, although the eth0 in dom0 and the vif corresponding to the linux guest in dom0 is showing that they receive large packet: In dom0: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr

[R-SIG-Mac] rnorm.halton
Hi all, I need to transform classic 32bit Fortran code to 64bit Fortran code, see the discussion [R-SIG-Mac] rnorm.halton. But I'm clearly a beginner in Fortran... Does someone already do this for his package? From here, http://techpubs.sgi.com/library/tpl/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?coll=linux&db=bks&fname=/SGI_Developer/Porting_Guide/ch03.html , I identify the following changes

predict.lm with new regressor names
Hi all, Suppose: y<-rnorm(100) x1<-rnorm(100) lm.yx<-lm(y~x1) To predict from a new data source, one can use: # works as expected dum<-data.frame(x1=rnorm(200)) predict(lm.yx, newdata=dum) Suppose lm.yx has been run and we have the lm object. And we have a dataframe that has columns that don't correspond by name to the original regressors. I very! naively assumed that doing

lm: mark sample used in estimation
Hi all, I wanted to mark the estimation sample: mark what rows (observations) are deleted by lm due to missingness. For eg, from the original example in help, I have changed one of the values in trt to be NA (missing). # code below # ---- # original example > ctl <- c(4.17,5.58,5.18,6.11,4.50,4.61,5.17,4.53,5.33,5.14) > trt <- c(4.81,4.17,4.41,3.59,5.87,3.83,6.03,4.89,4.32,4.69) #

Getent not returning complete results.
I have some Redhat(ES 3) Linux servers authenticating agains Active Directory. One of the servers is not returning the complete list of users and groups for commands : getent passwd getent group But when I do wbinfo -u, I do get all the users. This is baffling me. The other servers don't have this problem. I have tallied the configuration on the servers and they are same. Thanks.

Deviance in Zero inflated models
Dear list, I am running some zero inflated models and would like to know what the deviance of the models. Unlike running a normal GLM where the deviance is displayed in the summary all that is displayed in a summary of the zero inflated model is the log likelihood. I hope this isn't a read the manual question, and if it is I apologize for wasting your time, but if you could still send me a

Please help with loop, thanks
Dear R helpers, I would like to write a loop that makes 4 objects (called A, B, C, and D) each of which contains ten random numbers. This attempt: individuals<-c("A","B","C","D") for(i in 1:length(individuals)) { individuals[i]<-rnorm(10) } does not work because "individuals[i]" is not the proper way to extract each letter from the

Failed cleanup on peer probe tmp file causes volume re-initialization problems
Hi everybody, This is more of a part of a larger wishlist: I found out that when a peer probe is performed by the user, mgmt/glusterd write a file named after the hostname of the peer in question. On successful probes, this file is replaced with a file named after the UUID of the glusterd instance on the peer, while a failed probe causes the temp file to simply get deleted. Here's an
