count - help
Hi,
I have a data frame with several factors and I want to count the occurrences
of an event resulting from an interaction of some factors.
I tried to do several tables (and then converting to d.f and then merge them
by one factor and the freq
Tab1 <- merge (BPorAmost,BPorSector,by=c('Sample','Freq'))
Tab1 <- merge (Tab1,BPorDist,by=c('Sample','Freq'))
Tab1

help_if command_new column
Hi everyone,
Do you know how to apply a If command to a vector in a data.frame, creating
a new column?
Example: If one species has "1" value in the Abundance column then it is
"Solitary". If the abundance is higher than 1, is "School".
I did:
aggregationFunction <-function(x){
(if (x>1) a<- 'School'
else a<-

simple routing protocol for VPN redundancy?
Hello all,
I need a very simple routing protocol for VPN redundancy.
We have several sites and each site has a Linux router and two IPCops each
with an ADSL connection to the internet using different ISP''s.
I have configured VPN''s between all of the sites for each IPcop on ispA and
the same for the IPCops on ispB. This way, if one of the ISP fails, I change
the route on the

RE: xen - rdma live migration support
Hi Ola,
There was some code done by IBM a few years ago in conjunction with a University that worked and showed the benefits but AFAIK it was never integrated into Xen. The research paper is around on the web.
A few of us requested RDMA migration support for version 4.0 and it is at the top of the request list, I suspect it is probably a case of enough people asking and Citrix approving.

self organizing map advice for categorical data
Hello,
Could anybody offer any advice about implementing a Kohonen self organizing map for categorical data? Specifically I am wondering if there are any pre-existent packages that can deal with categorical data and/or how one would compare the input vector of categoricals with the self organizing map nodes.
Thanks in advance.

DGD patch not detecting dead gateway
Hello all!
I applied http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/routes-2.6.8-10.diff patch to kernel
2.6.8.1 and it works fine, or almost fine. It does the load balancing
well, but when one link is dropped it continues to try it.
At the end of http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/nano.txt it is said to ping
gateway 1 and gateway 2, for the kernel to know if that route is
working, but since my linux is connected to the links

Virsh-install error
Hi everyone,
This is my first attempt at a PV guest install from scratch and I''m a
tad confused. Have I answered one of the questions virsh-install asks
wrongly?
Does anyone know of a general guide for installing PV guests with
virsh-install? (Most Centos docs seem to use the GUI based virt-manager
and I only have command line access).
Am I meant to make use of the files here:

My future plan
My future plan currently looks like this for my VPS hosting solution, so any feedback would be appreciated:
Each Node:
Dell R210 Intel X3430 Quad Core 8GB RAM
Intel PT 1Gbps Server Dual Port NIC using linux "bonding"
Small pair of HDDs for OS (Probably in RAID1)
Each node will run about 10 - 15 customer guests
Storage Server:
Some Intel Quad Core Chip
2GB RAM (Maybe more?)

GPLPV
Hello list;
I´ve updated my windows 2k3 GPLPV drivers from 0.9.9 to 0.9.12-pre13.
But now, i have two xen block devices; (of course, one of them is not
working and is marked with the yellow exclamation).
How can i fix it, or how can i uninstall the GPLPV drivers in order to make
a clean install?
Thanks
Juan Pablo

Bad stuttering with Winamp 2.80
The only thing that has changed is the winamp version number. My
radio streams are unaltered (to the point of the same process
connecting to two versions of Winamp).
What happens is that I begin to hear skips in the stream. Soon the
stream is full on stuttering, as if a square wave was modulating
the volume control.
Anyone else experience this?

Xen 3.3.0 cpu cache problems
Dear Xen users,
I have a problem with "Xen 3.3.0". All domU (paravirt) only have "32 KB"
of cache instead of "6144 KB" as listed in dom0. This is really
noticeable under load since the system tends to be really slow.
I did not have this problem with "Xen 3.2.1".
I''m using the same domU configuration files for the new and the old
installation.

10GB Ethernet for Xen - Intel, Solarflare, Mellanox, Which is best?
Hi All,
I''m trying to choose between 10Gb Ethernet cards for Xen. The trouble is
I''m getting quite confused with all the different terms different
companies use to describe NIC''s virtualization support. Any ideas what
the differences are between these brands?
I am trying to sort a comparison table but will need some help:

Intel ET Series
Mellanox
