ext3 versus Reiser
Greetings,
I'll keep this as brief as possible:
Is Redhat going to support ext3 or reiser (or both) in the next version
of Redhat (I'm not looking for a commitment, just a roadmap)?
I noticed (and used) the reiser utilities in the Wolverine beta (on a test
box) to make reiser paritions, but upgrading to the 7.1 release failed as
it only saw ext2 partitions. I understand that ext3 is

CESA-2005:587 missing devhelp src.rpm
> src:
> devhelp-0.9.2-2.4.6.src.rpm
> mozilla-1.7.10-1.4.1.centos4.src.rpm
The mozilla src.rpm is there, but the devhelp one seems to be missing from
the mirrors....

IMAP ANNOTATE Extension RFC5257: priority on roadmap
Hi Timo,
congrats to the merger with OX.
Currently the implementation of RFC 5257, ANNOTATE-EXPERIMENT-1, has
only low priority on http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Roadmap
I want to explain a scenario that would benefit from annotation support
to - maybe - increase the priority in your roadmap:

roadmap & development
Hi there,
I'm very interested in oVirt as a management interface for a VM setup we're building, however it seems as though there isn't much info on the product roadmap or active development. I'm wondering if anyone could point me to more information on the roadmap or commit activity on the project?
Regards,
Anthony

Syslinux roadmap, revised
Hi all...
I'm looking once again at the Syslinux roadmap. It seems to me that
we're going to have a very hard time making Syslinux 4.00 be the
full-featured everything-in-C release I had hoped for, or perhaps more
specifically, that it is justifiable to sit on the current
filesystems-in-C code waiting for the rest.
That would probably mean productizing the transitional COM32R module

Peculiar situation while build httpd-2.2.6 from provided spec
Hi all,
While build a rpm from the httpd-2.2.6 sources (spec file included in
the source package), i had a situation where packaging would fail at the
step where several link are created for "logs" etc directories.
<<..snip from httpd.spec...>>
# symlinks for /etc/httpd
ln -s ../..%{_localstatedir}/log/httpd $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/etc/httpd/logs
ln -s ../..%{_localstatedir}/run

forcing Y on yum upgrades
I'd like to be able to do a "yum upgrade" without having to hit Y each time.
While "yum install -y [program]}" seems to work, "yum -y upgrade" doesn't
seem to. Is there a way to easily do this?

ECC RAM Error
Hello
Has any one have any experience in ECC RAM Errors.
we are seeing ECC fault Errors but I am not sure if it can be related to
RAM it self or
it is related to bad connection and noise.
please let me know if you have a good document regarding ECC Errors,
specially I want to know if data will be retransmitted when error happens.

How do tzdata changes get made?
Hi All,
I guess this is a political question rather than technical.
New Zealand is probably extending daylight saving time with
a bill currently being drafted. It will (most likely) change
the end data of dst by pushing it out ~3 weeks.
My question; AFAIK CentOS/whitebox/et. al. should not make
any changes to tzdata - it is an upstream issue, but how do
we ensure that 'upstream'

performance considerations
greets . . .
i'm setting up a linux system on a little toshiba libretto -- p-166,
64 megs, plenty of disk space, though -- and i'm wondering as to the
performance effects were i to apply ext3. i presume that keeping the
journal consumes some finite amount of resources; what i don't know
is whether this is repaid or more than repaid in some other way.
advice?

nfsv4 in centos?
Greetings
Some time ago I briefly played with NFS. More recently with Samba.
What I am wondering is if NFSv4 is already integrated into Centos 4 from
upstream.
Reference:
http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reviews/6331/1/
if not, is there a timeline? Centos 5 ?
and... is or can NFS be a compatible yet better replacement for Samba?
thanks
