error in file(file, "r")
Hi, there.
I am trying to read a file into R, but I got following message
Error in file(file, "r") : unable to open connection In addition: Warning message: cannot open file `SwirlSample.txt' .
In fact, my file has been already in the current working directory.
My R is running on window operation system instead of UNIX.
Thanks.

Complete newbie - create microarray image from data file?
Hey
So sorry to be a total newbie, but i'm just finding my feet with R.
I heard on the grapevine i could recreate a scanned microarray image, or at
least get a good graphic of it from a just a data file.
I have .txt files for illumina beadarrays but no images cos the service we
used didn't send them. The 'beadarray' package seems to require TIFFs to get
the graphic output.

getting package version inside .First.lib
Greetings -
Is it possible, inside .First.lib,
to find out the version number of the package that is being loaded?
If only one version of the package has been installed,
we could scan the DESCRIPTION file, something like
.First.lib <- function(lib, pkg) {
library.dynam("spatstat", pkg, lib)
dfile <- system.file("DESCRIPTION", package="spatstat")

a question about read.marrayRaw
Hi, everyone,
I ran the test case in "Introduction to the Bioconductor
marrayInput package first. When I ran the session in (read.marrayRaw) I got the following error messages. Other sessions work well.
The functions and errors are labled with blue and red respectively.
>mraw <- read.Spot(path = datadir, layout = galinfo$layout, gnames = galinfo$gnames, target = swirlTargets)

confusion about the meaning of CONFIG_XEN
hi all,
I noticed "CONFIG_XEN" appears many times in Xen source code. I''m confused about the meaning of "CONFIG_XEN".
For example,
in "gnttab.c", the definations of gnttab_map() and gnttab_resume() vary with "ifdef CONFIG_XEN" or not.
And I also noticed ifndef CONFIG_XEN , the file <platform-pci.h> is included.
So my questions

[PATCH 0/2] vhot-net: Use kvm_memslots instead of vhost_memory to translate GPA to HVA
From: Hongyong Zang <zanghongyong at huawei.com>
Vhost-net uses its own vhost_memory, which results from user space (qemu) info,
to translate GPA to HVA. Since kernel's kvm structure already maintains the
address relationship in its member *kvm_memslots*, these patches use kernel's
kvm_memslots directly without the need of initialization and maintenance of
vhost_memory.

close but no cigar
Hi Everyone: It turns out that there's still a small ( I hope ) problem.
I'm close but that only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
Here's my problem: When trying to load a package that I am writing, the
load is looking for the packageDescription function in the utils package
but not finding the utils package. I looked on cran and utils is not there
which makes me think that it

suggestion to fix packageDescription() for Windows users
Recently I was trying to cite a package where the authors have ?
and ? in their names. I found that on Windows the citation() function
did not return the authors' names at all, but on Linux there was no
problem (sessionInfos at the bottom):
On Windows, no author names are returned:

suggestion to fix packageDescription() for Windows users
I'd be curious to know what others think of Rich's patch. If it is acceptable, I can spend time that I was going to look at it this week on another bug.

suggestion to fix packageDescription() for Windows users
Hi Duncan,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, it does seem to be specific to the CTYPE
setting to Chinese on Windows. If I set it to English using
Sys.setlocale() there is no problem, then back to Chinese and the
authors disappear:
Sys.setlocale("LC_ALL","English")
citation("readr")

suggestion to fix packageDescription() for Windows users
Hi Duncan,
I'm guessing I'll be able to look at this over the weekend/next week (probably closer to next week). It is on my list of things to do and I've just had a few other prior commitments that I have to finish first.
Sorry for the delay. I'll chime in with a status update next week.
Nathan
