solve nonlinear equation using BBsolve
Hi r-users, I would like to solve system of nonlinear equation using BBsolve function and below is my code.  I have 4 parameters and I have 4 eqns. mgf_gammasum <- function(p) { t  <- rep(NA, length(p)) mn <- 142.36 vr <- 9335.69 sk <- 0.8139635 kur <- 3.252591 rh  <- 0.896 # cumulants k1 <- p[1]*(p[2]+p[3]) k2 <- p[1]*(2*p[2]*p[3]*p[4] +p[2]^2+p[3]^2) k3 <-

[LLVMdev] alloca scalarization with dynamic indexing into vectors
Hi all, I have a question regarding dynamic indexing into a vector with GEP. I see that in the ScalarReplAggregates pass in the LLVM 3.2 release the call SROA::isSafeGEP() will now allow alloca scalarization in the case where a GEP index into a vector isn’t a constant. My question is: what is the expected behavior when the index is out of bounds of the vector? Is it undefined? I have an

random sample set for regression
Hi, I'm not a programmer, so I have a question about R functions, I run the Random Forest regression models, but I would like to run the random forest model 1000 times with different random sample set. to check the uncertainty of the regression model estimates. exemple of data: ################################# table= all Y: all$AGB X variables: Variables=as.matrix(all[, c( "min",

Discriminant Analysis - Obtaining Classification Functions
Hello! I need some help with the linear discriminant analysis in R. I have some plant samples (divided into several groups) on which I measured a few quantitative characteristics. Now, I need to infer some classification rules usable for identifying new samples. I have used the function lda from the MASS library in a usual fashion: lda.1 <- lda(groups~char1+char2+char3, data=xxx) I'd

dfsane arguments
Hi there, I'm trying to solve 2 nonlinear equations in 2 unknowns using the BB package. The first part of my program solves 3 ODEs using the deSolve package. This part works. The output is used as parameter values in the functions I need to solve. The second part is to solve 2 equations in 2 unknowns. This does not work. I get the error message "unexpected end of input". So what

Loop and Solver with Black/Scholes-Formula
Hello, for my diploma thesis I need to program a solver for Merton?s respectively Black?s and Scholes? Option pricing formula, which should be achieved for several dates. What I want to do is to estimate the value of a firm?s assets "vA" (x[2] denotes vA) and the option-implied volatility of firm?s assets "sigA" (x[1] denotes sigA) by solving it simultaneous using the Black

Non-negative solutions to complicated equations
Hi all, I have a system of 3 equations with many defined parameters and 3 variables I need to find solutions to. I actually know the solutions I'm aiming for (0.07,0.287,0.0061) but R tends to give me (0,0,0). I tried the "BB" package but don't really follow how to refine my solutions from that; these are wrong so far. Here's my code from trying that: > f<-function(x){

There aren't any leaks to be had there, since they're allocated in a custom allocator. They're

[LLVMdev] Metadata/Value split has landed
The `Metadata`/`Value` split (PR21532) landed in r223802 -- at least, the C++ side of it. This was a rocky day, but I suppose that's what I get for failing to stage the change in smaller pieces. As of r223916 (lldb), I'm not aware of any remaining (in-tree) breakage, so if I've missed some problem in the sea of buildbot errors, please flag me down. I'll follow up soon with

help about solving two equations
I have two matrix s1 and s2, each of them is 1000*1. and I have two equations: digamma(p)-digamma(p+q)=s1, digamma(q)-digamma(p+q)=s2, and I want to sovle these two equations to get the value of x and y, which are also two 1000*1 matrices. I write a program like this: f <- function(x) { p<- x[1]; q <- x[2]; ((digamma(p)-digamma(p+q)-s1[2,]) )^2 +((digamma(q)-digamma(p+q)-s2[2,]) )^2

recommendation for rpm packaged forum/bb software for centos 5?
Subject says it all- has anyone got any recommendations for rpm-packaged forum/bb software for CentOS 5 - preferrably from a repo like rpmforge or similar so it will get updates as they come through? Yes, I can install phpBB et al from scratch but I with 'yum update' it is harder for me to miss updates :-) -- Cheers, Tony
