Gracias Gabriela.

List of lm objects
Hi R-Helpers:
I?m trying to fit the same linear model to a bunch of variables in a data
frame, so I was trying to adapt the codes John Fox, Spencer Graves and Peter
Dalgaard proposed and discused yesterday on this e-mail list:
for (y in df[, 3:5]) {
mod = lm(y ~ Trt*Dose, data = x, contrasts = list(Trt =
contr.sum, Dose = contr.sum))
Anova(mod, type = "III")

Significance of degrees of freedom in nlme
Dear Dr. Bates,
Thank you very much for your response. I had consulted
the algorithm described in Pinheiro and Bates.
However, what I don't understand (among other things)
is why my two parameters appear to be estimated at
different grouping levels (based on the DF values).
Affect this different values of DF at the estimates
parameters? The estimates fixed effects were get at
the same level of

Gram-Schmidt orthonormal factorization
Hi:
Does R have a function as gsorth is SAS, that perform a the Gram-Schmidt
orthonormal factorization of the m ?n matrix A, where m is greater than or
equal to n? That is, the GSORTH subroutine in SAS computes the
column-orthonormal m ?n matrix P and the upper triangular n ?n matrix T such
that A = P*T.
or any other version of Gram-Schmidt orthonormal factorization?
I search the help, but I

nlme_varcov matrix
Hi all!
Is there a function that provides the VarCov matrix
for a nlme objects? How I can extract the matrix for a
nlme model fitted?
I would appreciate any guidance

bootstrapping - number of items to replace is not a multiple of replacement length
Hello,
I'm new to boostrapping and I'd need some help to understand the error
message that pops up when I run my script.
I have a data.frame with 73 lines and 21 column.
I am running a stepwise regression to find the best model using the R
function "step".
I apply bootstrapping to obtain model coefficients.
This is my script:

problem-nlme
Hi,
I have great problems with my work in R.
I look for to model the growth of fish.
I have "Longitudinal data", a serie of repeated
measures for each individual.
Using the corresponding packages "nlme" in R.
I treat to fit to the data different growth functions,
wich were entered by me.
Unfortunately for no it was arrived at the
convergence, several error messages appeared.

how calculation degrees freedom
Hi, I' m having a hard time understanding the computation of degrees of freedom when runing nlme() on the following model:

my model.nlme <- nlme (dLt ~ TasavB(Lt, Linf, K),

Problems in "plot.lm" with option "which=5"
Hi:
I think I found an error in plot.lm with the option which=5, of course I can be wrong , as usually happen, but I had work on it for a while and show it to some other people that work with R, and so far I don't see what I can be interpreting wrong. I also worked over the plot.lm's code and change some lines to get what I call "the right plot", if any body is

Evaluating the significance of the random effects in GLMM
Hi all!
I am working with GLMM using the binomial family
I use the following codes
I dropped no significant terms, refitting the model and comparing the

G.1b<-lmer(data$Ymat~stu+spi+(1|ber),data=data,family="binomial")

plot.igraph
I am having trouble plotting one of my graphs (think graph theory graph with
edges and vertices, not scatterplots or histograms). For some pairs of
vertices, I want multiple edges to be visible in my graph. As an example of
this, in my script below, I want two edges to be visible from vertex 1 and
vertex 9 (among some others) yet when I plot it, only one edge is visible.

igraph: error when setting size and shape of vertices
When the shape of all vertices is set to "square" and the size of the vertices is also set, one get following error (commands attached):
Error in l[[which.min(sapply(l, function(p) (p[1] - x0)^2 + (p[2] - y0)^2))]] :
attempt to select less than one element
Is there a way to solve this problem?

vertex labels in igraph from adjacency matrix
I am getting some unexpected results from some functions of igraph and
it is possible that I am misinterpreting the vertex numbers. Eg., the
max betweenness measure seems to be from a vertex that is not connected
to a single other vertex. Below if my code snippet:
require(igraph)
my.graph <- graph.adjacency(adjmatrix = my.adj.matrix, mode=c("undirected"))

igraph - designing graph plot by attributes
Hi,
I'm working on some social networks and I managed to create the graphs with labels and edges weight, but I would also like to change the size of the vertices according to the age of the persons in the network and the shape according to the gender. Now for the age, I have people with ages between 20 and 78, and I would like to have 4 categories (sizes): 20-35, 36-50, 50-65, >65. I have

Bonpower Crashes Trying Sparse Matrix (Igraph)
Hello All,
I have been trying to do bonpow for a while now.Bonpow works for few graphs
and for few others it goes out of memory.
I did see reply to one of the posting Alph Centrality Crashed in Igraph
memory error.
The solution in the posting was to use sparse matrix. This is the link of
the message.
