nls() fit to Kahnemann/ Tversky function
Dear WizaRds, I would like to fit a curve to ten points with nls() for one unknown parameter gamma in the Kahnemann/ Tversky function, but somehow it won't work and I am unable to locate my mistake. p.kum <- seq(0.1,1, by=0.1) felt.prob.kum <- c(0.16, 0.23, 0.36, 0.49, 0.61, 0.71, 0.85, 0.89, 0.95, 1) ## how to find a function that fits these points nicely? plot(p.kum,

optimize in very small values
I hope you will forgive me this simple question on titration. I'm trying to find very small values from the algorithm below, which I believe is correctly formatted, and the constants are also correct. When SID goes over ATOT, fitted vales are much too low compared to the literature. I guess I must be using optimize in a wrong way but cannot find out how to improve it. I'm on windows, R

[LLVMdev] Last Known Good Builds?
Hi, I have several times over the past three months tried to retrieve the trunk version of LLVM/Clang/Compiler-RT from Subversion and then tried to build it on Windows: Without success. Also, I occasionally get emails from people who ask me why LLVM/Windows does not build (they find my name in the mailing list archive). This has made me ponder the issue and I came up with the following scheme

[LLVMdev] Last Known Good Builds?
| Do you have any information about how people are setting up their | projects? I ask because there are different ways to set up a project | to depend on LLVM. No, I don't have that kind of information. All I know is that it is quite difficult to find a working version on the trunk. I think this especially hit those that are new to LLVM and yet want to play around with the bleeding edge

Prediction intervals for zero inflated Poisson regression
Dear all, I'm using zeroinfl() from the pscl-package for zero inflated Poisson regression. I would like to calculate (aproximate) prediction intervals for the fitted values. The package itself does not provide them. Can this be calculated analyticaly? Or do I have to use bootstrap? What I tried until now is to use bootstrap to estimate these intervals. Any comments on the code are welcome.

asterisk sizing for play and dtmf detection
Dear all i'm planning a migration to asterisk for a high volume IVR service (from 1000 to 1500 concurrent call) The IVR service is based only on DTMF tones so the features required is - play feature - dtmf detection Asterisk will receive calls via VOIP (SIP with g711 codec) The IVR service wil be a static service based on Asterisk dialplan with some prompt (from 0 to 5, play of files in

Suggested System Specs - 20 ext, 8 Incoming Lines
Hello All, We're looking to put in an Asterisk server to handle 20 extensions and 8 incoming lines (likely PSTN), voicemail etc. At some point we will be leveraging VOIP to add additional lines, and bridge two offices. What are the minimum system specs you would suggest? If you were not looking for the minimum, what would you suggest we run it off of? (Is there some rough formula for

GlmmPQL
Dear all, I have two questions concerning model simplification in GlmmPQL, for for random and fixed effects: 1. Fixed effects: I don't know if I can simply specify anova(model) and trust the table that comes up with the p value for each variable in the fixed effects formula. I have read that the only way to test for fixed effects is to do approximate wald tests based on the standard errors

A combinatorial optimization problem: finding the best permutation of a complex vector
Hi, I have a complex-valued vector X in C^n. Given another complex-valued vector Y in C^n, I want to find a permutation of Y, say, Y*, that minimizes ||X - Y*||, the distance between X and Y*. Note that this problem can be trivially solved for "Real" vectors, since real numbers possess the ordering property. Complex numbers, however, do not possess this property. Hence the

one-site competition data // curve fitting
Hello everyone, I have biological data from a competition experiment where a free ligand is titrated against the binding of a protein. Now, I would like to fit a standard on-site binding curve to this data in order to obtain the IC50 and Kd values. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a package/function which allows such a fitting and calculates the results. Does anyone know if there is

Variable names in lattice XY-plot
Hi, how can I get a more descriptive text instead of the variable names in my XY-lattice plot, according to the table below? Variable text acet = "Acetylaspartate Thalamus" chol = "Choline Thalamus" acetp = "Acetylaspartate parieoc" ino = "Inositole Thalamus" I could not find a solution. Please have a look at my syntax. Thanks a lot,

Help with subset
I am so happy about learning how to read in multiple Excel files, that I have to try and make another improvement. I know what I have been doing is clumsy, but it works. Hopefully, someone can suggest a more elegant solution. As a novice, I have been using MS-Word and mail merge to write my code. I start with about 2 pages of code, and end up with 2,220 merged pages that I copy and paste into R.

u32 hash-es ?
hi I would like to ask is the following config correct for what I want to achieve ... Scenario: I have 3 networks 192.168.12.0/24, 192.168.48.0/24, 192.168.56.0/24 and most of the users use 1 IP, some of them more... If I make flat u32-filter search the box will make aprox/max 3 * 256 = 768 checks for every IP, so i''m deciding to deploy u32 hashes.. Here is the config I think to use
