help with making a function of scatter plot with multiple variables
Dear list, I have done a scatter plot of multiple variables in the same graph, with different col and pch. I managed to do it with the following code but not know how to make a function of these so that next time if I want to do similar graph but with new variables, I dont have to copy the code and then change the old variables with the new ones but just call a function with the new

lattice tick marks
Hi, why doesn't this work properly when 'positions' is a vector of strings? All the data sets get totally mixed... positions <- rep ( c("1","2","3","4","5","6","9","10","11","12","13","14", "error", "no trial"), 45 ) compound <- matrix(

Secondary Y axis title
I have the following R code to create a plot with two y axes. I am essentially trying to plot a price series with a volume series on the same graph. (i.e. to compare price with volume). I can label the first y axis successfully, but the problem is in labeling the 2nd y-axis. Essentially, the label never appears. It seems as though there is not enough margin on the right hand side of

mapping of colornames into hsv: half way done
Ok, now we have the mapping of color names to color codes (see below) and conversion to rgb (something like Ben Bolker's function), but how to convert rgb to hsv? Thanks to Brian Ripley, Peter Dalgaard and Ben Bolker Details below Regards Jens etc/colors.big maps 455 names to rgb in S syntax etc/rgb.txt maps 657 names to rgb in C syntax, but unlike colors() it has mixed upper and

How to plot both lines and points by group on ggplot2
Thank you that is exactly it! The problem was to connect each point of the series 'Conc' with a line. Clustering help in Heat Maps
Dear Experts, I am using the below script to generate the heat map of gene expression data. I am using Hierarchical Clustering (hclust) for clustering. Now I want to compare different clustering parameters such as *K-means* clustering, Model Based Clustering, I have two queries: 1. How to incorporate different clustering method in the same code? 2. Is this possible to implement pvclust in the

how to find outliers from the list of values
Hi, I am new to R and I would like to get your help in finding 'outliers'. I have mvoutlier package installed in my system and added the package . But I not able find a function from 'mvoutlier' package which will identify 'outliers'. This is the sample list of data I have got which has one out-lier. 11489 11008 11873 80000000 9558 8645 8024 8371 It will

Screen not changing from 640x480 to 800x600 - "Shogun - Total War"
Wine 9.30 Slackware 11 ATI FireGL 5200 (Propriatory drivers) I found Shogun in a shop as a 'Classic' game and I've been trying to get it to work using Wine. Shogun uses Safedisc and so does not work in it's, ahem, original form. However it can, shall we say, be persuaded to get over it's difficulties and at least run. This is where I am now. I have the game running and

- detecting outliers
Hello all, I am estimating parameters for regression functions on experimental data. Functional response of Rogers type II. I would like to know which points of my dataset are outliers. What is the best method to do this with R? I found a method via R help, but would like to know if there are better methods for my purpose. Here is the script I us now: library("mvoutlier") dat

[LLVMdev] JITCodeEmitter patch - up for comments
This is the JITCodeEmitter patch, this is to facilitate cordening off the JIT code from the future direct object emission code (i) supporting the upcoming ObjectCodeEmitter class, on the X86, ARM, Alpha, and PowerPC platforms. This involves generic parameterization of backend code emitters to allow code emission to allotted class types, JITCodeEmitter and ObjectCodeEmitter.

modified FAST Script from package SensoMineR for the R community - Reg
###Dear R users ###I have been using SensoMineR package from CRAN for most of my work in sensory data analysis and from my usage experience, I encountered some areas for improvement and considered ###modifying the function in SensoMineR package for my personal use. I felt that it could be useful to share this to the community for enabling adoption by other users where they might require a

MASS library rob.cov ellipse
I figured this out so I wanted to post a response to my own question. Thanks to Brian Ripley for his hint, which got me looking in the right direction. The plot I had seen before that I wanted was automatic output to the cor.plot command in the mvoutlier library. A similar tolerance ellipse can be obtained from the covPlot command in the robustbase library, using which="tolEllipsePlot"

cluster results using fanny
Hi, I am using fanny and I have estrange results. I am wondering if someone out there can help me understand why this happens. First of all in most of my tries, it gives me a result in which each object has equal membership in all clusters. I have read that that means "the clustering is entirely fuzzy". Looking at the graphics it is really difficult to understand how objects with so
