lineplot.CI in "sciplot": option "ci.fun" can't be changed?
hi List and Manuel,
I have encounter the following problem with the function "lineplot.CI".? I'm running R 2.10.1, sciplot 1.0-7 on Win XP.? It seems like it's a scoping issue, but I couldn't figure it out.
Thanks!

introducing jitter in overlapping graphs using ggplots (plotmeans). Also sciplot.
Hi,
I want to plot means with standard deviations of Total Nitrogen (TN) across
4 stations (S1-S4) and over 3 years (2007-2009). I want this plot in one
panel.
I do not want medians (bwplot, boxplot).
I have tried a few different packages and it seems that ggplots with
plotmeans was the fastest (I am not extremely skilled in writing my own
scripts). Unfortunately, there is no grouping

moving from Windows to Linux - need help
hi
I've used R for many years on windows machines, but
have now acquired an Asus eee 1000 linux machine.
In order to get the best out of the machine, I used the
'pimpmyeee.sh' script, to get the full KDE desktop.
The version of Linux is Xandros, which I believe is
a close relative of Debian, but sadly I have only a
nodding acquaintance with Linux at present.
Naturally I want to

lineplot.CI problem
Hi List,
I have a problem plotting data using the lineplot.CI command in the sciplot package.
I want to plot the data of 2 experimental cases using different lines (traces). Time is on the X-axis. The tricky thing is that the data collection in the second case started later than for the first case. This is to say: the first n data points for the second case are missing.
So far so good. However,

x axis on sciplot
Is it possible to format the x axis, so that days are spaced
proportionately?
i.e. a larger space between 50 & 100, than 0 and 5?
Have not had any luck with axis.POSIXct().
Many thanks
Murray

Plotting log-axis with the exponential base to a plot with the default logarithm base 10
Hello!
I have a problem which I have tried to solve for several days now..
I have plottet a lineplot.CI in the library "sciplot", and I am trying to
plot it with a logaritmic y-axis (with exponential base).
The problem is that; when I type "log "y"", the axis transforms into the
logaritmic of base 10.
I wonder if someeone could tell me how to specify that I would

Plotting log-axis with the exponential base to a plot wi
Hello Ted!
Thank you a lot for your reply!!!
I will try to explain again; what I want is a logarithmic scaled y-axis
with the base of e (not 10). And the values I would like to use in the
plot are the raw values (not transformed in any way). Do you still think
that the base of log does not matter in this case (wheather it is e or 10
as a base)?

error bars in lattice xyplot *with groups*
Hi all,
I'm trying to plot error bars in a lattice plot generated with xyplot. Deepayan
Sarkar has provided a very useful solution for simple circumstances
(https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2005-October/081571.html), yet I am
having trouble getting it to work when the "groups" setting is enabled in
xyplot (i.e. multiple lines). To illustrate this, consider the singer data

Does anybody knows why this is giving an error?

Announcement: sciplot (includes functions for graphs w/ error bars)
The package "sciplot" is now available for download from CRAN. This
package includes a collection of functions that create graphs with error
bars for data collected from one-way or higher factorial designs, as
well as a function to plot bifurcation diagrams resulting from analysis
with XPPAUTO. The functions in this package replicate some of the
functionality of plotmeans() from the

Problem with bargraph.CI in Sciplot package
Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can help me. I'm trying to use bargraph.CI in the Sciplot
package when there is a missing combination of the factor levels.
Unfortunately the standard errors on the plot do not appear to be correct.
Consider an analysis consisting of two factors A and B. When all factor
level combinations are present all appears fine:

multiple x factors using the sciplot package
Dear R community,
I am a beginner using the sciplot package to graph barplots. I would like to be able to graph two x factors (Sampling.year and Period).
Sampling.year: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
Period: First, Second, Total
The parameter "group" is the different species I looked at. They can be seen in the legend.
The parameter "response" is the Average percentage

[Fwd: Re: Plotting log-axis with the exponential base to a plot with the default logarithm base 10]
Hello!
Thank you for answering!
What I am trying to do is to plot my raw values (biomass of different
species) on a logaritmic y-axis with the base of e. When I type "log="y"",
the axis transforms into a logaritmic axis with the base of 10.
Best regards,
Elisabeth

plotCI
Hi all,
I am using the function "plotCI" with the following command:
plotCI(m.residuos.p.2 [1:41],li=m.residuos.p.3 [1:41],ui=m.residuos.p.4
[1:41],lty=1,ylab="")
This generates exactly what I want except for the fact that I wanna drawn a
line linking the points (m.residuos).
How could I do that?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Caio

Missing smb.conf
I hope that someone can help me with this:
I hav always used Samba by installing the binaries. That has worked
well.
But now I need the SSL-option - so I have to install it from the bottom.
I use redhad 6.0 - and samba 2.0.6.
First I removed the rpm of the existing installation(and deleted the
smb.conf in /etc).
Then I gunziped/untared the file in tmp. In the source directory I did

I have been using Samba for 2,5 years now. I have had the same problem
since I started - I can not connect the Samba server from a W98 pc when

and use SHARE instead. I can see the share from the Window-client, but

How to plot 2 continous variables on double y-axis with 2 factors: ggplot2, gplot, lattice, sciplot?
Hi,
I have a data set with two continous variables that I want to plot MEANS (I
am not intrerested in median values) on a double-y graph. I also have 2
factors. I want the factor combinations plotted in different panes.
Dummy dataset:
mydata <- data.frame(factor1 = factor(rep(LETTERS[1:3], each = 40)),
factor2 = factor(rep(c(1:4), each = 10)),

Plot means with error bars - A novice needs help
Hello,
I'd appreciate a suggestion on how to construct plots (barplots?) that use
means on the Y axis instead of density/count. I'd also like to use groups
and plot error or confidence interval bars on these graphs. I know this is a
read the manual situation. I'd appreciate help with what to read, or your
benevolence with some sample code.
I've looked at lattice and gplots2, but

expression() and plot title
What I want to do is put the arguments I supply to a function into the
title of a plot
Say I'm calling func.1
func.1(a=4,b=4)
plot(....,..., title("a=4, b=4"))
If I'm calling func.1 with different arguments, I want the plot title to
reflect that.
A small detail is that func.1 might have an argument with a default like
c=a+b. I tried using expression but couldn't get it to
