Survival Plot in R 2.10.0
I would like to produce a complimentary log-log survival plot with only the points appearing on the graph. I am using the code below, taken from the plot.survfit page of help for the the survival package (version 2.35-7). I am running in R 2.10.0 on Windows XP, and the list of packages following the error is loaded. Is there some specific 'type= ' syntax, or an additional parameter that

help on drawing right colors within a grouped xyplot (Lattice)
Hi, I've lost my mind on it... I have to scatterplot two vectors, grouped by a third variable, with two different dimensions according to whether each cell line in the plot is sensitive or resistant to a given drug, and with a different color for each of 9 tissues of origin. Here's what I've done:

"order" issue
Hi everybody, this is a real dummy thing. I sorted a matrix based on a given column, and what I get is right, until it comes to columns of negative and positive values; than, "order" orders everything from max to min in the negative values, and then AGAIN from max to min in the positive values!!! Why isn't everything order from max to min, and that's it? Thank you!!! Attached

how to make stacked plot?
Dear friends: I'm interested to make a stacked plot of cumulative incidence. that's, the cuminc model is fitted [fit=cuminc(time, relapse)] and cumulative incidence is in place. I'd like to stack the cuminc plots (relapse of luekemia and death free from leukemia, for example) , then the constituent ratio of leukemia relapse and treatment related mortality is very clear. Can

error bars on survival curve
I am using plot(survfit(Surv(time,status) ~...) and would like to add error bars rather than the confidence intervals. Am I able to do this at specified times? e.g. when time = 20 & 40. leukemia.surv <- survfit(Surv(time, status) ~ x, data = aml) plot(leukemia.surv, lty = 2:3,xlim = c(0,50)) #can i add error bars at times 20 & 40? legend(100, .9, c("Maintenance", "No

dear list, i have a problem using the adaboost function from the package boost. running the example of leukemia works out very well, but so it does not on my own data. i always get the following 22 warnings: 1: cannot compute exact p-value with ties in: wilcox.test.default(x[which(y == 0)], x[which(y == 1)]) can anybody please help me with the meaning of this warning. thnak you stefan

A problem subsetting a data frame
Hi all, I have this microarray large microarray data set (ALL) from which I would like to subset or extract a set of data based on a factor ($mol.biol). I looked up some example of subsetting in, picked up two commands and tried both but I got error messages as follows > testset <- subset(ALL, ALL$mol.biol %in% c("BCR/ABL","ALL1/AF4")) >> Error in

exponential distribution
Dear all, I've tried to solve the Es. 12, cap 4 of "Introduction to GLM" by Annette Dobson. It's about the relationship between survival time of leukemia patients and blood cell count. I tried to fit a model with exponential distribution, first by glm (family gamma and then dispersion parameter fixed to 1) and then with survreg. They gave me the same point estimates but the

Survival Regression with multiple events per subject

I want to process a maximum likelihood estimation for a parametric regression survival time model with multiple events per subject. the STATA command for this survival regression is: use survreg stset failure(exercise), id(optionid) local regressors itm posret negret streg `regressors', distribution(weibull) explanation: stset declares data to be survival-time data; exercise

x axis
Hello, I write to know how can I modify the x axis : when I plot a survival object, R plots a graph with x values = 0, 10, 20, 30 while I want a graph with values 0, 6, 12, 18, 24 in the x axis. How can I do this? In R 2.1.1 version there was "time.inc" in survplot, but in version R 2.2.0 there isn't it! I am sorry for my english and I hope that you understand my problem. Thank you

Help
Hello, I have a question and need your help urgently. I am new to R but want to learn it. I have several files in a folder which I have imported to R using : temp = list.files(pattern="*.txt") >myfiles = lapply(temp, read.delim) The resulting files are on the workspace stored as List[110]. So they are 110 files in the list. Each file has several different columns and rows. My

Explaining Survival difference between Stata and R
Dear Everybody: I'm doing my usual "how does that work in R" thing with some Stata projects. I find a gross gap between the Stata and R in Cox PH models, and I hope you can give me some pointers about what goes wrong. I'm getting signals from R/Survival that the model just can't be estimated, but Stata spits out numbers just fine. I wonder if I should specify initial
