Re: FRS and GMRS via *
You don't need to reinvent anything to tie radios to *. Ham systems like IRLP, Echolink, eqso etc all have fairly tight controls to keep from being abused (although with a little Linux knowledge, the IRLP package can easily be used to set up your own network using their protocol). Jim Dixon seems to have done the work to integrate radios with * already. See

SIP interconnection problem
Hi all, I've setup two * servers which are SIP interconnected ala osaka/toronto from the * book (before anyone sugggests using IAX instead, no, I NEED to have them SIP interconnected for verification/test purposes). Then I have a Zoiper connected to one of them via IAX (so that * will not reinvite (?)). As soon as I try to call (via Zoiper) an extension on the other * I get a "Failed to

request for documentation improvement
Dear Samba-Team. First, I don't know if this is the right place for my request. If a bug report is more suitable, I can file one. My request is interconnected with CUPS, but I was told to ask you instead as - CUPS avoids to document software-specific stuff, because there are too many changes in the programs interconnected with CUPS to keep up with and the SMB backend is - as a part of Samba

SIP/IAX peers UNREACHABLE and audio loss
Hi all, I'm having a problem with some Asterisk servers interconnected with each other using IAX (I also tried with SIP without solving the problem) Sometimes, with apparently no reason, some peers become UNREACHABLE (I have qualify=yes in iax.conf) and REACHABLE again as soon as another qualify test is made. Our users are also complaining about audio loss during their calls, apparently

OT: mysterious traffic
Hi all, I have few sites which interconnected using a dedicated link. During these few weeks I've found that there are some mysterious traffic pass over my router with constant amount of bandwidth all over the time. I can know this because after working hours, only few applications are running and it did not generate this kind of traffic. Anyone can advice how to detect what kind of

Asterisk and Panasonic TDA200
We have a setup running Asterisk interconnected to a Panasonic TDA200. The Asterisk server has a two port E1 card, one connected to the phone company and the other to the Panasonic. Everything is running fine and we can send and receive calls from the Panasonic and phone company. We are using MFC/R2 for both links on Asterisk 1.4.4 and Zaptel 1.4.3. The only detail we have is that we cannot

Timing cable usage necessity
Hello everyone. I have a timing slips errors and I can't understand what source of the problem is. My installation has 2 digium cards: TE420 and TE220 cards in one server. There are 3 spans (E1) to PSTN and 3 spans to internal PBS stations - normal installation for transit communication. Span configuration is: span=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3 #TE420 - first port. To PSTN. span=2,0,0,ccs,hdb3 #TE420 -

SIP Trunking Mantra (Origination)
Hello Everyone, We are currently having talks with various service providers, and trying to determine what the best way is to interconnect in order to have access to the PSTN network. As you know there are two ways of doing this: Traditional PRI: Have trunks grouped into a transport layer such as OC3/12. With DIDs attached to the group. As you many know, this approach would also require a POP

filled.contour and NA's
Hi, I'm trying to do a filled.contour plot where some points are labelled as NA. How do I could plot this kind of graphics, so NA points are coloured black, keeping the levels of remaining points. NA's values represent land points (meaningless), and what I want to plot is the levels of a variable over the sea. x<-seq(length=21, from=-10, by=.25) y<-seq(length=8, from=36,

Asterisk and Hipath interconnections
Hi Stephen, You said that PRI works great. We are using HiPath 3550 and Siemens digital phone which using *11, *97 etc for function keys. However Asterisk uses the the * key plus one or two digits for function keys as well(it is common key combination for functions). So is it any way to disable *11, *97 keys in HiPath system and pass this keys to Asterisk? Thanks and regards, Isaac >Hi

NA's in survey analysis
Hello, I am trying to analyze sociological survey data using R. It is often important in survey to calculate both the actual factor sums and percentages (easily done with describe() ), but also the numbers and total percentage of NA's. Often it is important to present NA's in graphs besides the factors. Is there any easy way to make R treat NA's as if those were factors besides other

Problem Subsetting Rows that Have NA's
This has every appearance of being a bug. If it is not a bug, can someone tell me what I am asking for when I ask for "x[x[,2]==0,]". Thanks. > #here is the toy dataset > x <- rbind(c(1,1),c(2,2),c(3,3),c(4,0),c(5,0),c(6,NA), + c(7,NA),c(8,NA),c(9,NA),c(10,NA) + ) > x [,1] [,2] [1,] 1 1 [2,] 2 2 [3,] 3 3 [4,] 4 0 [5,] 5 0

how to include 'NA's in xtabs?
Hello! I have a dataset with NA's in some variables (factors), for example: $ P67 : Factor w/ 2 levels "-","+": NA 2 1 NA NA 2 1 1 2 NA ... I need to use 'xtabs' like xtabs(~x$P67) It works well and produces something like this: x$P67 - + 779 1318 but i want to compute NA's too, like this: x$P67 - + NA 779 1318 137 I am trying

First Appearance of value in splitted matrix
Hello, I have a large matrix (foo), I have to split by weeks and in which measures start at different points of time. Now I am looking for the number of the week, in which a specific value appears. I do not need the date or any other information from a row, but (due to structure of result table) the indicator i. One example: foo has two columns: Date, ID foo.all<- split(foo, cut(foo$Date,

LAN IAX2 trunk bad audio quality vs. LAN SIP trunk good audio quality
Hi, I have an audio quality problem regarding IAX2. I have 2 Asterisk servers interconnected via 2 LAN trunks at 1Gbps (no nat, no firewall). One trunk is SIP and the other IAX2. Normally, I use IAX2 but have noticed easily reproducible audio quality problems (voice in/out is OK but there's a "third" noise overlapping with a "scratchy sound" as if it were some kind of

Viewing certain numbers without NA's
Dear R Community, We have recently installed R 1.5.0 on several workstations. Ever since, if I try to extract certain numbers or lines from a file (which contains many NA's), I don't only get my desired line but all other lines which contain NA's. In a file with 15000 rows and 7500 NA's this is not very practical. In the earlier R-Version this worked when I typed in the
