Line-wrap problem
I'm wondering if someone can tell me how R determines where to wrap
lines in its output.
I'd like to understand this because occasionally often after running
a script the output of R no longer wraps at the correct location.
For example, the statement, '1:40' would ordinarily return something
like this...

I'm trying to set up linux ssh/shell authentication on a CentOS_6.2 server
running smbd version 3.5.10-114 using winbind/smb/pam. We've done this
successfully using the tdb backend but wanted users to get the same UID/GID
on every machine. Switched to rid for the backend but users still got a
foreign number for UID and their default group was always Domain Users. So

Giving up on authentication to trusted domain
I've pretty much decided that this doesn't work, but I'd like to
take this last opportunity to find out if ANYONE has a working
configuration like mine:
Samba server: v2.2.3a running on a RedHat Linux 7.2 system, plus
Winbind. The Samba server is in the PHS-SC domain, and can be
browsed from "My Network Places".
User "cbenson" has an NT account in the FHCRC domain

Can't install rjags on LinuxMint 12
Hi,
I'm trying to install rjags and R2jags with R version 2.14.1 (2011-12-22)
on
Linux Mint 12 machine using
software repository:
deb http://cran.fhcrc.org/bin/linux/ubuntu oneiric/
jags seems to install OK, but rjags gives a weird error about not finding
fprec symbol.
Here is a history of the problem including several attempts to work
around it.

I was looking for cri-o 1.13 package to install on CentOS 7.6 but it
seems that we only have 1.11 packaged.
There is any alternative to 1.13 package to CenOS 7.6 or if I want to

error installing lattice package
I just updated my Redhat EL systems to R-2.7.2, and tried to update my
packages as well. Lattice is one that failed. What do I need to do?

Thanks to Tony Plate for letting me know what the abbreviate.arg
option does. I think this could be made more flexible (I.e.
=TRUE, =FALSE, =#, where # would be passed to the abbreviate
min.length argument). But it follows the example I was given.

PATCH: x86-64 support and SSE intrinscis code
It's not possible to use ia32/*.nasm code in 64-bit compiles.
There's still no 64-bit asm code in FLAC. I'm not familiar with asm too,
so I wrote SSE-accelerated code using intrinsics.
This code uses two new preprocessor macros:
FLAC__CPU_X86_64 (analogous to FLAC__CPU_IA32)
and FLAC__HAS_X86INTRIN (analogous to FLAC__HAS_NASM)
Patch for cpu.c/cpu.h adds CPU features (sse3, ssse3)

Missing Windows binary for R-2.15RC?
Hi,
The page

has a link to:
http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/R-2.15.0rc-win.exe
However, clicking on that link gives a 404 "Object not found' error.

bug in rank(), order(), is.unsorted() on character vector

This looks OK:

But this does not:
