Sweave:Figures from plot (LME output) not getting generated (pdf or eps)
Hi, I seem to be facing a strange problem when I use Sweave for creating a LaTeX document of the R lme() output --- The EPS and PDF figure files get created, but are empty. I have attached a reproducible example below (taken from the R lme() help example). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \documentclass[a4paper,10pt]{article}

survSplit with data.frame containing a Surv object
Dear All, since years I am struggling with Surv objects in data.frames. The following seems to have to do with it. See below the modified example from the help page of survSplit. The original works, as expected. If, however, a Surv object is added to the data.frame, each record gets doubled. Is there some solution other than avoiding Surv objects in data.frames? Thanks, Heinz

How to keep attributes when dropping factor levels?
Dear All, to drop unused factor levels two ways are outlined in R-help. In both cases a label attribute is lost. The same happens, when using car:::recode. Is there a simple way to avoid losing attributes? Thanks, Heinz ## example ff <- factor(substring("statistics", 1:10, 1:10), levels=letters) attributes(ff)$label <- 'test label' attributes(ff)$label gg <- ff[,

RweaveHTML (R2HTML) Help
I have found Sweave() to be great for producing PDF documents. I have been experimenting with RweaveHTML (from the R2HTML) package and have had moderate success. My main issue has been that I simply want the R output to be shown verbatim in the HTML document but RweaveHTML tends to convert most output to a table, for example. So, is there a way to force the RweaveHTML driver to simply provide

WINS servers and browsing
Well, I've asked a couple times already but I will ask one more, since I still havent' managed to get any further. We have several sites. Each site has it's own network and domain. We are connected via a WAN. Is the best practice to have one WINS server for each site? Or is a single WINS server for the WAN the way to go? Right now I have a single WINS server for the WAN. I CAN NOT

Undefined behavior of head() and tail() with n = 0
Hi all, The documentation for head() and tail() describes the behavior of these generic functions when n is strictly positive (n > 0) and strictly negative (n < 0). How these functions work when given a zero value is not defined. Both GNU command-line utilities head and tail behave differently with +0 and -0: http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man1/head.1.html

In addition, signed zeroes only exist for floating point numbers - the bit patterns for as.integer(0) and as.integer(-0) are identical. Bus Error crash (PR#551)
Full_Name: Kjetil Kjernsmo Version: 1.0.1 OS: osf1 Submission from: (NULL) (129.240.28.227) Ouch, another obscure bug... I just had a bus error crash, with a core dump, a small one this time. Usual <URL:http://www.astro.uio.no/~kjetikj/tmp/core>. I had done a few simulations, and done a chisq.test() on them. These simulations also write about 190MB's to file, but I have no idea whether
