Hi, I've been hearing about firewalld and how this will become the default in future releases of Redhat and therefore CentOS. Its possible it might show up in other places like Ubuntu, maybe even Debian. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FirewallD Shorewall has been great, we use Puppet and an excellent Shorewall module which makes managing a distributed firewall configuration very easy.
