I have just upgraded from shorewall 4.5.19 to 4.5.21 on an ubuntu raring 13.04 system. As before, I did not use the deb and just downloaded a standard set of bz2''s and followed the installation instructions that had worked OK the last time. shorewall-core-4.5.21/configure.pl fails with a syntax error: Unsuccessful stat on filename containing newline at ./configure.pl line 81. "ERROR: ubuntu ID_LIKE=debian" is not a recognized host type at ./configure.pl line 81. and shorewall-core-4.5.21/configure fails with this error: ERROR: ubuntu is not a recognized host type The distribution /etc/os-release file contains the following two lines: ID=ubuntu ID_LIKE=debian My workaround was to delete the ID_LIKE line and change ID to debian.
