Syslog messages ipt_physdev & iptable_raw after upgrade
Hi, Yesterday I upgraded from Shorewall 2.4.1 to 3.2.1 after getting the end of support message. The upgrade went well, but I noticed a few lines in the syslog which I''m not sure about. They are: modprobe: Can''t locate module ipt_physdev modprobe: Can''t locate module iptable_raw They were repeated a few times when I started up the firewall after configuring it. Reading the mailing list archive I have found that these modules are present by default in a 2.6 kernel, but not in 2.4. I am running Slackware 9.1, kernel 2.4.26. Do they matter? Everything seems to be working ok, but could my machine be less secure because of this? The firewall is protecting the machine on which it runs, but there is no routing of traffic to another zone or anything like that. It has two interfaces eth0 and eth1, both of which can carry incoming connections and outgoing data, although only eth0 is connected right now, with eth1 as a backup in the event of the port going down. Any help will be appreciated.
