Shorewall users - Jan 2006 - Few questions about shorewall

Hello!
I have few questions about shorewall.
1:How many platforms, distros does shorewall  supports?
2:How many files (minimum) should I change/configure to make it working
without any Stop error.
3:Shorewall is cool and I would like to know/suggestions to how to get
maximum out of it? e.g. where should I use to utilize it upto the fullest.
In which way are you using it...examples? ideas?
4:What are the minimum requirements to install it without error/failed
dependensies?
