Hello, Sometimes when I reboot my Suse 9.3 Shorewall firewall, my 3 network interfaces change their eth* name. Exemple: before reboot eth0 is cable modem, eth1 is ADSL modem and eth2 is local network. after reboot eth0 is local network, eth1 is cable modem and eth2 is ADSL modem. No need to say that shorewall is not working anymore then! Someone can help me freeze these device names? With Redhat, the graphical interface let you decide the device names but not with Suse. Bye. Yves

There is a example of how to solve this problem. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net PGP Public Key \ https://lists.shorewall.net/teastep.pgp.key

"shorewall save" will save a configuration hard-coded for the way that the interfaces were named at the last "shorewall [re]start". -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net PGP Public Key \ https://lists.shorewall.net/teastep.pgp.key
