Shorewall users - Jul 2004 - Default Rules

Hello:

Today, I did a fresh install of Shorewall 2.0.6 on a (fresh install) RH9. I
went through configuration. Everything looked good. Shorewall "policy"
files
is default. There is no entry in the "rule" file. However, I have
noticed
that I can PING remote IP address & can display web pages. This leads me to
believe that Shorewall has default setting, which allows some "rules"
to
work even though "rule" file has no entries in them. If YES, where can
I
find this information?

I have read the documentation. I have also looked into FAQ''s.

Apparently you haven''t understood a thing you have read about how 
policies and rules work. Please read

''policy''
file.
