Hello all, I''m running the shorewall 2.0.1 beta, and see a lot of restore-??? assuming the ??? is the pid overview: May 10 23:02 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-1178 May 10 23:02 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-1282 May 15 20:44 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-14865 May 15 20:44 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-15076 May 15 20:50 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-15561 May 15 20:58 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-16178 May 15 20:58 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-16369 May 15 20:58 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-16570 May 15 20:58 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-16669 May 15 21:04 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-17207 May 15 21:05 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-17467 May 10 22:51 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-30701 May 10 22:51 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-30902 May 10 22:51 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-31001 May 10 22:54 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-31314 May 10 22:54 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-31521 May 10 22:54 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-31622 May 10 22:54 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-31817 May 10 22:59 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-320 May 10 22:54 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-32031 May 10 22:58 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-32396 May 10 22:59 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-32587 May 10 22:59 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-421 May 10 23:02 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-786 May 10 23:02 /var/lib/shorewall/restore-977 They are all 41 bytes the content is: #bin/sh . /usr/share/shorewall/functions I''m assuming a script or something is misbehaving, i''m assuming it''s firewall at or around line 6081 and 6082 doing echo ''#bin/sh'' > /var/lib/shorewall/restore-$$ echo ". /usr/share/shorewall/functions" >> /var/lib/shorewall/restore-$$ But why and how, I don''t know.... How to resolve this? -- Met Vriendelijke groet/Yours Sincerely Stijn Jonker <SJCJonker@sjc.nl>

Tom, LOL, no but really, is it because shorewall has terminated prematurely, or is it a side effect of something else going wrong? (Or expected behaviour?) I''ll release a bugfix update later today. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net
