Hi, I am sorry for repost, but our DNS server was broken today, so I have no idea if my posting have been commited to the mailing list, and if someone have replied me, the reply was obviously missed. ----------------------------------------------------- I am still struggling to get SIP (session initiation protocol) VoIP software (SIP Express Router + XTen/KPhone/Linphone) and hardware (Grandstream SIP IP Phone) to work with Shorewall. The best result I have achieved is when I can call (or someone call me), hear sound, but my talk is not transmitted for weird reason. I have quite standard configuration - two-card Linux PC with shorewall (one static external IP + static local IPs 192.168.0.xxx). It looks like something is wrong with NAT or masquarading. May be someone will be kind to e-mail (or post on this mailing list) their Shorewall configs (masq, nat, rules, etc.)? My e-mail is andreil1@starlett.lv Thanks in advance. ********************************************* * Best Regards --- Andrei Verovski * * Personal Home Page * http://snow.prohosting.com/guru4mac/ * Mac, Linux, DTP, Development, IT WEB Site *********************************************

You can make a change to your policy file to allow all outbound traffic also (not a good long run solution). This is more likely to be a microphone issue than a shorewall issue. -- John Andersen - NORCOM http://www.norcomsoftware.com/
Hi, John, Thank you very much for reply.> > Tail your logs on the shorewall machine as you talk and see if > any packets are being dropped. I have been able to record sound from microphone. PS. I am not making phone calls from firewall machine. I am doing that from another PC with local static IP 192.168.0.xxx. ********************************************* * Best Regards --- Andrei Verovski * * Personal Home Page * http://snow.prohosting.com/guru4mac/ * Mac, Linux, DTP, Development, IT WEB Site *********************************************
