I have a problem setting a 3 interface setup. Im running shorewall 1.4.9 on Mandrake. I have 3 Nics. Eth0 is connecting to my adsl modem Eth1 is my Gbit Lan Eth2 is connecting to my access point I had no problems when I had only 2 NICS in my server. I plugged in my 3 NIC for my Access point. Then I didn''t have any network activity at all. So I plugged in to Eth2. My DHCP works again. Can connect to all services I want to(ssh, Internet, etc). So eth2 is behaving like eth1 before. I would like that eth2 is behaving like eth1. When I ipdown eth2, shorewall restart and my networkcable is connected to eth1, it works like it did before My setup is attached. What am I overlooking ?? TIA, Rik

This is just the way that Linux works. If all of the cards are of the same type (they use the same driver) then you will have to physically move the cards around until your old cards are detected in their previous positions. In other words, when you added the third NIC, you expected it to be eth2; that simply isn''t guaranteed with Linux. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net
Same thought I had. But all are different. Eth0 is a eepro100 (on a the mainboard of a Siemens Celsius 400) Eth1 is a rtl8169 (Gbit Lan) Eth2 is a 3c59x (3com 905c tx) What should I do now ??
