Shorewall users - Sep 2003 - Masquerading out to the Internet

Hi!

I must have missed this in the documentation (and I appear to have the 
thing working anyway) but I wanted to double-check:

Is "ppp+" the right way to denote an interface in
/etc/shorewall/interfaces
and masq? I guessed at this, since it will be a pppX but I don''t and
can''t
know whether it will be ppp0, ppp1, or what.

An interface name ending with a `+'' will match all interfaces (whether
they currently exist or
not) which begin with that string. If this is a simple single dialup connection
to the internet
then this interface will always be ppp0. The ''+'' sign, is just
a wildcard that means (all or any)
ppp interface wether its up or down.
