Hello,
This is a low priority question, but I''m still curious.
In my blacklists file, I thought it would be a good idea to format all
of my banned IP''s by three digits, so it would be easier for me to
read.
So for instance, xx.xx.xx.255 would read 0xx.0xx.0xx.255. However, when
I issued the ''shorewall restart'' command, it didn''t
like that format and
choked. It looks as if it''s an iptables thing, based on the error
message. Sorry, I lost the remote connection and closed the terminal,
or I''d include the error message here.
Does anyone know why the leading zeroes throw it off? Is there a
work-around? Again, just curious and this isn''t a huge deal.
Thanks,
-MikeD
