Hi, I am running debian sid (unstable) and shorewall-1.4.7b1-1. After the install of shorewall I do not have a common.def file in /etc/shorewall. Yet this file is needed. Should this file have been installed during the instalation of shorewall? Tks Chuck

I thought common.def should have came with the package. I installed shorewall once and could not get it to work correctly. Then I noticed the missing file. I uninstalled shorewall and reinstalled it again. Still no common.def Is this a bug in debian shorewall?? If so, how would I file a bug report> Chuck

Should this file have been installed duringthe> instalation of shorewall? As some stated vefore, it should be there as an integral part of Shorewall. What I''d think of ist the extension of common.def - .def resembles me of some kind of a "DEbian File". I believe there is no such file extensions, but could it be there is a maintenance task that scans particular partitions to clean them and eventually collect/remove garbage files? There are some maintenance tools out there that can do this. If such a tool is to remove all core dumps, the contents of /tmp/killme or whatever, it could also be set to "seek & destroy all .deb files" - for whatever this would be useful.
