Jason Maas reported that he got it to go. From his 08/12/03 email:
"After the ethernet bridging is configured, then reconfigure Shorewall as
directed in the "two interface" quickstart guide, using
"br0" as your
''loc'' interface."
Once the bridge is configured with the tap device,
(example at: http://openvpn.sourceforge.net/bridge.html)
ethernet frames are passed over the tunnel.
The tun device is just point 2 point interface.
