I''m glad that you find 6wall usefull. As you may have seen in the
changelog
6wall is up-to-date with Shorewall 1.4.5. Not all Shorewall features are
available, some due to the differences between the features of iptables and
ip6tables, some due to the fact that I have not modified them yet.
The current functionalities of 6wall suit most of the needs for the members
of the Bering-uClibc team for testing and using IPv6 with Bering-uClibc in
a secure way. As with any product, Shorewall evolves and gains more and
more functionalities. But with my little spare time I will have to make
decissions about my future activities, e.g. adding all the new
functionalities of the latest Shorewall releases to 6wall or to spend the
time in adding support for IPv6 specific functionalities, like IPv6 header
checking, EUI64 checking, etc. Currently I tend to favor the second option.
Regarding support for other distributions than LEAF (the lrp format): I
have no experience with creating rpms, nor the time to work in that area.
As I said before, my spare time is limited and I currently spend only time
on 6wall development/maintenance for Bering-uClibc and on the work on the
new release of Bering-uClibc itself.
However, I have no problems with anyone else taking the 6wall lrp package
and convert it into something usefull for other distributions.
