If you connect to a remote server, you probably do not need to do anything on your side. What is the error? The only issue might be whether remote desktop works across SNAT/masquerading -- I don''t have a convenient way to test that. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Shorewall - iptables made easy Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net
Jed: Take a look at the rules files under /etc/shorewall folder. Read thru it and then see if that works for you. Very quickly you need to add a DNAT rule that allows you to forward your requests from the firewall to your workstation. Also make sure it works within your firewall first before you try it from outside.
