I have recently installed the latest version of Shorewall on an 8.1 Suse installation. The RPM install complained that the Kernel verions was not supported (requires > 2.2?) I forced installation ignoring dependencies as I assumed that the format of the version number given by Suse was probably the problem. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Roy

Is this something that I should be concerned about?>From http://www.shorewall.net/Install.htm:Note1: Some SuSE users have encountered a problem whereby rpm reports a conflict with kernel <= 2.2. even though a 2.4 kernel is installed. If this happens, simple use the ''nodeps'' option to rpm (rpm -ivh --nodeps <shorewall rpm>). -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Shorewall - iptables made easy Shoreline, \ http://www.shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net
