[Shorewall-users] FAQ #8: Starting Shorewall with ipchains installed
I ran into the problem described in the FAQ, Item 8 (ipchains installed when trying to start Shorewall). I was just wondering if it makes sense to have Shorewall automatically detect this and get rid of the offensive ipchains module? Or at least detect it and give a clear warning? It really had me pulling my hair until I finally found the answer. Maybe an automated check would save others from the same frustration. Shorewall is amazing! Thanks, Tom. Bill

Software that blindly reconfigures your system to its own needs is written east of Lake Washington. Shoreline is on the west side of the lake where we don''t believe in that sort of thing :-)> Or at least detect it and give a clear warning?
