I read a post to the list that references shorewall having a webmin module, did a google search and found references. However is there such module and where do you get more info on it and where can you download it? Thanks, Mike

What releases would you test against? This is free software that we develop nights and weekends -- we''re not likely to spend much time validating our code against obsolete versions of other people''s code. I have been so busy I havent been able to keep up Tom. I have serveral shorewalls out there working great by the way for years. So shorewall has been so stable over the years for me. That I have installed them and walked away. I monitor them closely. If it works why mess with it. I have a slew of them out there communicating with General motors, Ford,Chry,Toyota,LinclonMerc,Chev,Olds and Cad.. I must have a 1000 rules, vpns. etc: It scares me to think of upgrading what I Have built and then having problems . I havent had the time to study shorewall again untill recently. I need more of me to go around I think sometimes. Anyway I know I have ask some stupid questions when I could''nt see the forest for the trees. My point is simply that when an open source product is being developed (unlike a commercial product), the emphasis is much more toward supporting the LATEST version of all of the related products rather than determining what the OLDSEST version of those products that the new one will work with. I THINK that you could probably get away with using the new Webmin module with Shorewall versions as early as 1.3.3 or so. It won''t work with 1.2.* since it doesn''t seem to support the old port forwarding/redirection syntax. Glad to hear that you got your DNS mystery solved... -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Shorewall - iptables made easy Shoreline, \ http://www.shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net
