Hi Guys I am quite keen to try and install shorewall on my SuSE 8.1 machine. I connect=20 to the ''net using a cable connection and a Linksys router. In order to use a=20 webcam I had to open a port on the router by enabling the DMZ function. I would like to utilise shorewall but need a bit of help configuring it. I=20 also need access to my home network which shares the router ( It is a 4 port=20 router), as well as the ability to dial into my PC when I''m travelling, to=20 collect mail. I have read the installation guide and its just confused me even more. Does anyone else have a similar setup. Please bear in mind that I am a=20 relative newbie to Linux. Thanks and regards Mark.

What the DMZ function does on the linksys router is send all incoming traffic to a designated local IP. IN that case, I would say shorewall would be needed. Witihin the linksys router setup, you can also dnat the certain ports your need for you webcam. --- Aaron Axelsen AIM: AAAK2 Email: axelseaa@amadmax.com URL: www.amadmax.com "It said, ""Insert disk #3,"" but only two will fit!"
