I don''t know what else I can do in Shorewall. This issue is thoroughly
covered in the Shorewall standalone system QuickStart Guide which is
included in Mandrake 9.0 (presumably in
/usr/share/doc/shorewall-1.3.7c/standalone.htm -- Mandrake STILL hasn''t
shipped me my copy of 9.0). This guide is also available online at
http://www.shorewall.net/standalone.htm.
Beginning with Shorewall 1.3.9, Shorewall refuses to start until it has
been configured and a specific file in /etc/shorewall is removed. Once
Mandrake has migrated to that version of Shorewall, hopefully it will be
clearer to people that Shorewall needs to be configured before it can be
used.
