My problem was a very very messed up routing table, not sure what
happened, but everything is all good now.

If you are usint HTB, the /sbin/tc program included with RH8.0 doesn''t
support HTB. That prevents Shorewall from starting until you disable
traffic shaping or install a version of /sbin/tc that does support it.
That is the only 8.0 issue that I''m aware of with Shorewall.
