There''s also a patch available from the URL right above the part of the
documentation that you quote. You''re probably going to have to build
the
modules yourself (I''m certainly not getting into the compiled module
business).

It''s my understanding the the Patch-O-Matic version is a better 
implementation since it was done by Herald Welte, the Netfilter project 
lead.
