As discussed on the list previously, SuSE does not include a package called "kernel". Unfortunately, SuSE does provide packages that provide a virtual package called "kernel". Since virtual packages do not have a version associated with them, a conflict with Shorewall results if the virtual package "kernel" is installed. Rather than change the Shorewall RPM, I have decided to simply document the workaround (use the "--nodeps" option when installing the RPM). This exercise did turn up one error in the Shorewall RPM -- that rpm was providing both a real "shorewall" package and a virtual one. I''ve removed the line in the .spec file responsible for the virtual package. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Shorewall - iptables made easy AIM: tmeastep \ http://www.shorewall.net ICQ: #60745924 \ teastep@shorewall.net
