Beta 2 corrects a number of issues with the new Shorewall Init package. Some of the changes in Beta 2 are incompatible with Beta 1 and require that the Beta 1 version of Shorewall-init be uninstalled before Beta 2 is installed. One word of caution. The Beta 2 RPM is targeted toward SuSE-based systems. It will work on RedHat-based systems provided that SELinux is not configured in enforcing mode. When 4.4.10 is released, the maintainers of RedHat-targeted RPMs will, I''m sure, correct this deficiency in their own packages. Among the issues corrected: 1) A non-fatal runtime error occurred when the new ''wait'' interface option was used and the interface was not available. 2) The ''vardir'' file in product configuration directories (/etc/shorewall, etc) was mishandled. 3) The ifupdown script is now installed in /sbin/shorewall-ifupdown so that it is assured to be accessible prior to network availability (/usr NFS-mounted case). -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ When I die, I want to go like my Grandfather who Shoreline, \ died peacefully in his sleep.
