-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Debian Testing Security Advisory DTSA-13-1 September 8th, 2005 secure-testing-team@lists.alioth.debian.org Joey Hess http://secure-testing-master.debian.net/ - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Package : evolution Vulnerability : format string vulnerabilities Problem-Scope : remote Debian-specific: No CVE ID : CAN-2005-2549 CAN-2005-2550 Multiple vulnerabilities were discovered in evolution: CAN-2005-2549 Multiple format string vulnerabilities in Evolution allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via (1) full vCard data, (2) contact data from remote LDAP servers, or (3) task list data from remote servers. CAN-2005-2550 Format string vulnerability in Evolution allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via the calendar entries such as task lists, which are not properly handled when the user selects the Calendars tab. For the testing distribution (etch) this is fixed in version 2.2.3-2etch1 For the unstable distribution (sid) this is fixed in version 2.2.3-3 This upgrade is recommended if you use evolution. The Debian testing security team does not track security issues for then stable (sarge) and oldstable (woody) distributions. If stable is vulnerable, the Debian security team will make an announcement once a fix is ready.
