disk utilization is over 200%

I use Brendan''s sysperfstat script to see the overall system performance and
found the the disk utilization is over 100:

fsflush writes very slow
I''m troubleshooting an I/O performance problem with one of our applications that does a lot of writing, generally blocks just over 32K, sequentially writing large files.
