Is write(2) made durable atomically?
Will a write(2) to a ZFS file be made durable atomically?
Under the hood in ZFS, writes are committed using either shadow paging or
logging, as I understand it. So I believe that I mean to ask whether a
write(2), pushed to ZPL, and pushed on down the stack, can be split into
multiple transactions? Or, instead, is it guaranteed to be committed in a
single transaction, and so committed atomically?
thanks!

How to know the recordsize of a file
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I would like to know the blocksize of a particular file. I know the
blocksize for a particular file is decided at creation time, in fuction
of the write size done and the recordsize property of the dataset.
How can I access that information?. Some zdb magic?.

can''t boot 2009.06 domU on Xen 3.4.1 / CentOS 5.3 dom0
I''ve got a CentOS 5.3 dom0 with Xen 3.4.1-rc5 (or so). I''ve tried the same stuff below with 3.4.0, no difference. I''m trying to install 2009.06 PV domU based on instructions from [1] and [2]. I can run the install fine, I can also get the kernel and boot archive (from [2]) after the install. But for the life of me I can''t get the installed domU to boot.

[OT] Label Printer Recommendations
Greetings Folks,
I am after any recommendations or experiences using Label printers to print
barcodes with CentOS, we currently using Star TSP700's but they're not clear
enough for the scanners we have. There seems to be plenty of choice but not
much Linux support going on, 'Never had anyone ask for Linux drivers
before..' seems to be the most common answer when trying to buy.

Looking for confirmation.
Hi.
I''ve almost all file system functions working.
I started to run some heavy file system regression tests. They work. fsx
wasn''t able to break my port, but the test you can find here:
http://people.freebsd.org/~kan/fsstress.tar.gz
broke it. My kernel panics on this assertion (zfs_dir.c):

ZFS Available Space
[Sol 10 6/6 x64]
I am very newbie in ZFS.
I have created 30GB storage pool and become a root_pool. If I run "du -hs" from root directory , it reports only used 5.4G. But when I run "df -h", it reports used 26G. Why it is happens? How to reclaim back to 5.4G usage?
Thanks,
Regards

ZFS attributes for CIFS.
Hi all,
I''m setting up a new fileserver, and while I''m not planning on enabling
CIFS right away, I know I will in the future.
I know there are several ZFS properties or attributes that affect how
CIFS behaves. I seem to recall that at least one of those needs to be
set early (like when the filesystem [or pool?] is created?
Which properties might those be?

How does zfs COW deal with ''..'' in brother directory?
Hi matt,
I have some problems about understanding zfs COW implemention. Suppose
b and c are both children dir of a, if c changes, there will be new
versions of both a and c, namely c'' and a''.
a a''
b c c''
Because ''..'' in b points to a before this change, shall we modify b
to let ''..'' point to a''? If yes,
