I'm guessing you're using a GL-based compositor, which I fully expect
to work poorly. Please try a non-compositing or XRender-based
compositing environment.

Vesamenu - Menu position
We're currently working for project OpenElec on a syslinux menu.
We would like to know if it's possible to move the menu position to the
middle/bottom instead of the top...
Currently we simply use the Vesamenu as it doesn't require much more
functionality.
I saw a post regarding the option MENU STARTROW, but that doesn't seem to
work (anymore?).
Any suggestions are welcome.

I suspect screen tearing (as it's usually defined) is to be expected.
Can you take a photo of what you're seeing, since I'm suspecting it's
more than regular screen tearing?

GLM / large dataset question
LS,
How large a dataset can glm fit with a binomial link function? I have a set
of about 100.000 observations and about 8000 explanatory variables (a factor
with 8000 levels).
Is there a way to find out how large datasets R can handle in general?
Thanks in advance,
geelman

nouveau on G5 Macs
Hi all,
I have been trying to solve nouveau issues on my iMac G5 for ages. As
far as I can understand it, there is a problem with nouveau and page
size mapping. I tried both 64K and 4K page size kernels and the the
result is always distorted video.
There is an old To-Do list, which says "fix the page size mapping
problem on G5/64 bit for exposing fifo regs" on

If i start the firewall (connected to multiple bridges) i get a LOT of
those scary messages.

"update-grub" adds line to "multiboot"
.../initrd.img-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64
}
Now the "pciback" command is at the "module" line and the device is actually seized. The problem is that is added to all linux kernels and not only the Xen kernel.

there's no real benefit to 64k pages for most applications), basic
things should work. I wouldn't recommend using a GL-based compositor
though.
Which distortion are you talking about?

ogg_stream_flush
Hi,
While building an ogg-vorbis stream encoder, I encountered some problems
with silence in the audiostream.
The bitrate drops to almost zero, and pages going out less then ones a
minute what makes the stream to stop / buffer.
In earlier postings I read that I shout use ogg_stream_flush as an
alternative to ogg_stream_pageout, in case of silence.
My question is this; Is there any
