Funny, but on most cell phones it is again necessary to shout to be heard; See you in a few at sip:7463#22622#1 at proxy.ideasip.com or sip:200901 at login.zipdx.com or skype:pfh-zdx?call&topic=200901 /r

HD Voice conference Friday Nov 7th @ 12 Noon EST
Hi, This week's VoIP Users Conference will be tie the Talkshoe PSTN/SIP ULAW conference bridge to the ZipDX.com G.722-capable bridge. It may be a little crazy, but I'm looking forward to getting some explanations from David Frankel about the effects of wide band (or as Polycom calls it, "HD Voice") on conferencing. David can probably answer any technical questions you may have about WB aud...

G.722 between Eyebeam and a Polycom IP650
...; mode and the audio quality is certainly very good. However, things are not so easy with Eyebeam and the IP650. When a call is placed between those two the audio stream from Eyebeam to the IP650 is never heard. The audio from the IP650 to Eyebeam is heard, and very good quality. David Frankel of ZipDX tells me that there is an error in RFC3551 such that G.722 RTP clock/timestamps are actually wrong. To quote the RFC directly. "Even though the actual sampling rate for G.722 audio is 16,000 Hz, the RTP clock rate for the G722 payload format is 8,000 Hz because that value was erroneously assi...

Friday Feb 20th 12 Noon EST: Jason Fischl from Counterpath on VUC
Hi, Few subjects cause as many arguments as "which SIP client works best?" on IRC #asterisk, voip forums, and probably the -users mailing list. I have tried most of the SIP clients available in the last 5 years, both with Asterisk and other platforms such as OnSIP.com, IConnectHere.com, ZipDX.com and the venerable old FWD (in the days when that almost worked). Speaking of ZipDX, we continue to have a g722 wideband bridge open and bridged to Talkshoe thanks to them. Some of our callers are on wideband using Polycoms or Eyebeam wideband. (open = can of worms) I maintain that X-Lite (now...

g722 question
...when pjmedia talks to one of those the over-driven audio problems appear. What we need to know is what's the most used implementation: 14<->16 bits conversion or not. Any pointers to help clear this up? We'd really like to see more g722-capable SIP clients for our own conference on ZipDX. Regards, Randy http://vuc.me

Anyone had any luck with SIP clients on theiPhoneplatform?
That sounds like the ideal app for me too. Fring requires we register with Fring and give them user id/password pair. In our case it did not work until we put a public IP on our Asterisk. I just bought WeePhone and I'll give it a try on the iPhone.
