zigzag confidence interval in a plot
Dear All, When I plot the values and linear regression line for one data set, it is fine. But for another one I see zigzags, when I plot the confidence interval >cd Depth CHAOsep12RNA 9,94 804 25,06 1476,833333 40,04 1540,561404 50,11 1575,166667 52,46 349,222222 54,92 1941,5 57,29 1053,507042 60,11 1535,1 70,04 2244,963303 79,97 1954,507042 100,31 2679,140625 > plot(cd$CHAOsep12RNA,cd$Depth, ylim = rev(range(0...

Just a couple questions on how I should go about this.
I''m working on my personal site. The design is complete and I want to integrate some rails into it. I''ve done a few small things before, but compared to them this is big. I need a simple blog with categories and comments and an archive. I want a nice posting system, but don''t want it in HTML. Is there something I can add or make, kind of like BBCODE? I pretty much know

Help with graphs in A4 size
Hi, I need to generate complex graphics which have to be shown in the plot window but also in pdf file, and they must have A4 size. This is the reason why I use width=8.27 and heigth=11.69. The problem is that I don't make it runs when I put something (text, lines, and so on) outside the plot region. I mean if I run the following code, it works perfectly, because the text "My

textConnection appears to be slow
I was trying to read in a file and delete lines that did not have the correct number of fields on them. I was reading the file as one character vector per line using 'scan' with sep='\n'. I was then using 'count.fields' with 'textConnection' to the object I just read in. I thought at first the system was locked up, but further testing showed that the

Xen/VMWare Server comparison and "best Xen practices"?
...on a single Athlon 2500+ or around that, not sure about the exact speed.) But regularly one of the python processes grabs another 10-15%, so the whole CPU utilization goes up to around 20%. Although the single VM is idle at that time and shows 0.0x%. So, even when idle the whole CPU utilization zigzags between 10 and 20%. I found that when I close the VM console that drops to 2-3%, so that python process is obviously related to the VM console. The interesting thing is that when I then reopen the console from the VM manager it keeps going at about 3% and doesn't go up to the earlier 9%. Bu...

[LLVMdev] "Best" alias analysis algorithm
Hello, I'm playing with alias analysis, using the following program: %i = external global int ; <int*> [#uses=2] implementation ; Functions: int %_Z3bari(int %p) { entry: %tmp.0 = load int* %i ; <int> [#uses=1] %tmp.1 = setgt int %tmp.0, 10 ; <bool> [#uses=1] br bool %tmp.1, label %then, label %UnifiedReturnBlock then:

virutal resources and ssh_authorized_key
Hello! I''ve got question - how to use ssh_autorized_key as a virtual resource? I''ve got bunch of users and ssh_authorized_key virtual resources, but only users gets to the target system - ssh keys not... I write something like: class admins { @user { "username": ... } @ssh_authorized_key { "username": ensure => present, key => "...",

Thank, Timothy! I add this stages. About RLE: I have one more unresolved stage. Mike Melanson wrote in "VP3 Bitstream Format..." about RLE using: "* Zigzag Ordering: After transforming and quantizing a block of samples, the samples are not in an optimal order for run length encoding. Zigzag ordering rearranges the samples to put more zeros between non-zero samples." If we pass

Extra environment variable breaks wine
Hello, I have a problem running wine, which is basically this: 1. I run some program under wine, and it runs OK. 2. I run export A=1 3. I run wine again, and it reports: wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0009), starting debugger... err:seh:start_debugger Couldn't start debugger ("debugger/winedbg 8 32") (2) The name of variable does not matter at all. plot() and lines() multivariate problem
Dear list I'm trying to solve the following problem since 2 days with no success. Could someone help a newbie, please ? I have a dependant variable which is diameter of shell, and two factors which are level on the beach (3 levels 'B', 'E' and 'H') and a hydrodynamics indice (3 levels 1, 2 and 3) To study diameter variations according to these factors, I may use

Windows XP Pro and Samba (file saving)
Sometimes when I save a file to a samba-shared drive the application is unable to save there and asks if the file is write protected or if the disk is full. If I then save it to a local drive and copy it there using Windows Explorer, it can overwrite the file fine. Do I need to make that myriad of changes to my XP Pro registry? Most of the time it works fine, just from time to time it will give

break axis using plotrix
Dear all, I am trying to plot some data with differing range in y-values with type="b", adding error bars and break the y-axis into two parts, one lower part from 12 to 20, and one upper part from 34 to 40. I have tried to follow the basic ideas from the script provided here by Jim Lemon: http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/56487.html My attempt looks like this:

break.axis all range of data
Hello R users, I have a plot type=b with x axis at=(1:36), I would like to increase the distance between x tick-marks 8 and 9, and not connect the points x=8 and x=9. I can do the second thing, setting type="p" and then drawing the lines, but I don't know how to do the first. Plus, I was wondering if there was a function that allows to insert a gap without covering data point
