Can one set the owner of a folder to BUILTIN\Administrators?
I've recently attempted to migrate some windows server files over to samba 4 hosted on a FreeNAS server. Using robocopy with the /copyall switch, I expected everything, including ACL's and ownership information to transfer over. For the most part they have. The one problem I've ran into however, is that I'm getting errors any time I or robocopy attempt to change the ownership to

Recycle Repository Issue
I have done some searching on the Internet, but not been able to find a solution to my problem. I hope you can help me with this. I have a server at home that runs on FreeBSD 10.3. The file system is ZFS. I have two ZFS pools: tank and fun. I share my ZFS file systems using Samba v4.6.2. When I add recycle bin functionality for a share like below, it work like a charm: [mac] path =

Hai, The best info is missing. What are the windows event ID errors? What is the right set on the profiles folder? If you layout is : /home/samba/profiles and you shared the folder profiles, then show me getfacl /home/samba/profiles. I see your running, Samba 4.7, are you able to upgrade to 4.9.4? This: ~# cat default-rights-sysvol.acl # file: /var/lib/samba/sysvol # owner: root #

Recycle Repository Issue
Hai, Now, i must say, i know nothing about freebsd or zfs. But try these in this order, check what you also use in you global config. vfs objects = zfs_space zfsac catia fruit recycle streams_xattr aio_pthread This should be Zfs and mac compatible. There was a bug which had todo with the loading order of the vfs modules. But if im wrong here, i hope someone on the list corrects me. Last, in the recycle lines, what happens if you change recycle:re...

Hello again, Jeremy and other Samba experts, I'm sorry to be such a pain in your neck(s), but I still need your help in looking for help trying to find out why SMB2/3.1.1 in Samba 4.6.5 performs so much worse than SMB/1.5 in Samba 3.6.15 in scenarios with a huge number of small files. As requested by Jeremy, I have done wireshark "pcapng" captures of the four scenarios as

Need help troubleshooting TCP thrashing, possible kernel bug?
I have a FreeNAS 9.3 server running Samba Version 4.3.6 and a bunch of Windows and Linux clients. Everything's been running fine for a while and nothing changed on the server. Recently (Jan 27th) some of the Archlinux clients updated from a 4.8.x kernel to a 4.9.x kernel. Again, things ran fine. Then on Jan 30th around 2am the Archlinux clients using 4.9.x kernels and utilizing mount.cifs to
