BackupPC and rsync
I have been using BackupPC via rsync daemons on the target machines and all has been working well. At least until about the time rsync went to version 3.0.6.
Since then backups have been failing for some targets. The failure is a TCP ZeroWindow issue. It looks like the server rsync process cannot empty it's buffer soon enough and eventually the process fails.
I really do not know if it is rsync version related, because I never looked at the packet stream until I started having failures.
BackupPC was running on a VM host and the fai...

include/exclude problems
Dear Wayne,
I am using rsync to synchronize my working files from home computer to
the work computer. I want to sync only the files in some directories and
no .files. However, I do need to sync several files from .mozilla
director (addressbook, calendar and bookmarks) which are located in the
.directory. I use the following command and the "excluded-utk.txt" file

Unstable NFS mount at heavy load.
I was running benchmark on IO performance using iozone3.
In my build, the dom0 resides on a small usb stick and all the storage
comes from a NFS mount.
I test NFS performance on both dom0 && domU, mounting from the same server.
The dom0 test works just well, but the domU run suffers from unstable NFS mount.
Since this is a NFS root, the domU just appear to be freezed.

HELP! SNV_97,98,99 zfs with iscsitadm and VMWare!
I''m not sure if this is a problem with the iscsitarget or zfs. I''d greatly appreciate it if it gets moved to the proper list.
Well I''m just about out of ideas on what might be wrong..
Quick history:
I installed OS 2008.05 when it was SNV_86 to try out ZFS with VMWare. Found out that multilun''s were being treated as multipaths so waited till SNV_94 came out to
