replaced.
Ultimately, the SelectionDAG is unloved today is it's unloved. It really
needs some stiff refactoring. And optimization. And better documentation.
And better developer tools. But with all the other problems, the zeitgeist
has turned against it.

Getting the window having the focus
Greetings!
I'm currently gathering information that helps software in assessing the
user's context. One very important such data would be the application
that the user is currently working with which mostly is roughly
equivalent to the name of the window that has the focus. Unfortunately
I'm at a loss even about which API to ask for this information. As
personally I am using compiz as

...systems with an SSD or large amount a RAM.
On servers and workstations this affects databases and virtual machine images.
The nodatacow mount option may be of use here, with associated gotchas.
On desktops this primarily affects application databases (including
Firefox and Chromium profiles, GNOME Zeitgeist, Ubuntu Desktop Couch,
Banshee, and Evolution''s datastore.)
Workarounds include manually defragmenting your home directory using
btrfs fi defragment. Auto-defragment (mount option autodefrag) should
solve this problem in 3.0.
Symptoms include btrfs-transacti and btrfs-endio-wri taking up a...

Outgoing calls via Sipgate
Hello all,
With some help from people in #asterisk on freenode, I've managed to get
incoming SIP calls working.
Outgoing calls however are however a different matter. My whole working
(incoming calls only) SIPgate configuration can be found here. [1]
When I uncommon what's in there, nothing works. There doesn't appear to
be any useful error being logged , even when debug is

1.2 in production w/100+ phones?
Is anybody using 1.2 (or 1.2.1) in a production network using Realtime
(voicemail, sip or extensions) with 100+ SIP phones? If so, what are
your experiences? We've been running 1.0.3 for about a year and it's
been rock-solid. We'd like to upgrade to Realtime and 1.2, but I'm
afraid of killing our stability. Obviously, we'd do it in stages
(upgrade to 1.2, then realtime

Cannot boot machine up after working on zaptel....
Hi all,
hard for me to explain this, but it keeps happening on a number of machines
I attempt to upgrade zaptel, or do something to zaptel modules..... and then
I reboot the machine, and for whatever reason, it hangs on loading the
modules
Either the install wasn't complete, the zaptel modules settings are wrong,
whatever....
but the problem is now I can't get past the boot up and the

I may have missed the discussion, but why are we trying to move away
from the SelectionDAG? Are there specific problems that we don't want
to fix or live with? If so, what are they?

What happens if you take out the Zaptel I/F's? If it boots, you can correct
whatever you did then replace them.

Metadata syntax (was Universal syntax for Markdown)
So, hi all. First time commenting on the list.
I personally think having tags (whether of type "author:" or type "by")
is useful for two reasons.
One: It allows multiple tags to be entered. Two, it clears up the
potential problem listed by Fletcher regarding tags.

I think it's designed to help you aid in the dissemination and
understanding of what's possible and "who we should do" (that's very
important, guys) but it appears that the widespread "Zeitgeist" is that I'm

We need the controversy (2cy) and we need the debate (2b) and we need
solutions implemented (2a) and all of those things come with a turning of
the tide--with logic and love overtaking the absolute inane Zeitgeist of
"nothing" that is pervading what used to be civilization and is now
completely in "retrograde." Rant over, here's more key--the Elemental Key
to the message of Creation.

it's take--what's fake here is our lack of understanding that "disease" is
not something you impart on your house or your kin or your kids, not on
