[Fwd: wrong dovecot GID while upgrading]
Sorry to have bothered - just read the updating file...!
I should have let the upgrading process remove the dovecot user...
Warm regards,

sa learning from an imap spam folder
...not
know where to write but I would like to be able to set up sa-learn via
cron to learn from spam folder of a particular email account (via
IMAP).
Can anyone share how to do it? Is dovecot involved in it?
I am using:
Exim 4.69
Dovecot 1.0.10
p5-Mail-SpamAssassin-3.2.1
Thanks a lot for helping.

pam_authenticate() failed: authentication error
...ssing?)
Not surprisingly
$ l /etc/pam.d/dovecot
ls: /etc/pam.d/dovecot: No such file or directory
The funny thing is that authentication does work but I guess I have
something misconfigured. I'd appreciate if you could help me.
I am on a FreeBSD system (7.0) if that matters.
Thank you!

child process killed with signal 11
Hello,
Today I have noticed such log entries
May 19 23:57:32 relay dovecot: child 40857 (imap) killed with signal 11
I am using v. 1.0.13.
Any idea what can be wrong? Dovecot does not die. It seems child
processes are being killed.
Thanks!

200 pop3-login processes
Dear all,
I am using dovecot 1.0.0 and have only 5 pop3 users. However, I have
counted over 200 pop3-loging processes. I just wonder if it is normal for
dovecot (has been running maybe for 2-3 weeks after installing the stable
verion).
Thanks!

upgrade from 1.0rc7
Hello,
Have been to dovecot website but could not find information on what I need
to check before I upgrade from the current 1.0rc7 which I am using on a
FreeBSD 6.2 system. Will the old conf (virtual users, no ssl) file work
with upgraded dovecot?
Many thanks!

wrong dovecot GID while upgrading
...into:
DOVECOT_UID?= 1003
DOVECOT_GID?= 1003
SCRIPT_ENV+= DOVECOT_UID=${DOVECOT_UID} \
DOVECOT_GID=${DOVECOT_GID}
I saved the makefile and ran portupgrade again but I got stopped by
exactly the same error. I'd appreciate suggestions how to resolve this.
Thank you!

making dovecot and exim write to one log
...an I realized
that its job is not to inform other processes about log creation.
My qeustion is how do I set up things that dovecot and exim happily write
to one log without having to restart dovecot at midnight?
I am fairly new to FreeBSD which I use so I beg your patience with me.
Thanks!

NUT UPS monitor & APC Back UPS CS-350 (nut-2.2.2p1) on OpenBSD
...it seems to be valid assumption, that this type of UPS has been added
to the list of recognized devices? Or maybe my problems are strictly
OpenBSD-related?
Is my only option for today just to use apcupsd - or it's possible to
fix that lack of "matching HID UPS" somehow?

is mounting subvolumes with a read-only root subvolume allowed?
Hi,
I have a box with / and /home being subvolumes from the same btrfs filesystem.
/etc/fstab:
UUID=c0686... / btrfs subvol=root,x-systemd.device-timeout=0 1 1
UUID=c0686... /home btrfs subvol=home,x-systemd.device-timeout=0 1 1
...
/ is initially mounted readonly by the initramfs, and then after switching
to the real system, /home is attempted to be mounted in parallel with /
