eth0 does not exist when booting to xen kernel
Hi everyone. I am pretty new to xen, but am having an issue that I can''t seem to crack. I am running the 2-6-16 kernel on Debian Etch. If I boot into the Etch kernel, everything works as it should. When I boot into the Xen kernel, eth0 no longer exists. >From what I understand, the network-bridge script will down my eth0, create a new virtual eth0 and bridge it into xenbr0

Re: Problem on slow keystroke response - guest on Xen box

SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
...encountered the error " SIOCSIFADDR: No such device" in one my Xen Guest (others VM are okay, and have checked they are using different mac address). Follow this link (http://blog.kabisa.nl/2009/12/11/xen-how-to-fix-siocsifaddr-no-such-device/) to remove the file "/etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules. " and didn''t help My guest VM is running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, anything I can do? (I have tried eth0, eth1, eth2, eth3 and didn''t work also). Thanks. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists....

Bug#413601: Xen domUs vs. udev
...s the effect that (guesswork follows) udev thinks on each system (re)start that a new ethernet device is available. This can be seen in (a) the device no longer being called `eth0', but `eth1', `eth2' on next restart and so on and in (b) that the list in a domU's `/etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules' is getting longer and longer: #v+ [...] # Xen virtual device (vif) SUBSYSTEM=="net", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTRS{address}=="00:16:3e:07:f2:cb", NAME="eth11" # Xen virtual device (vif) SUBSYSTEM=="net", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTRS{addre...

Bug#450678: xen-utils-common: /etc/init.d/xen restart fails when using network-bridge if netdev does not match eth[0-9+]
...pt 'network-bridge netdev=XXX') (where XXX is the name of one of these devices), /etc/init.d/xend restart fails consistently. For instance, i've got a machine which has the interface to be bridged named "wan". It's named this reliably by a hand-modified /etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules. So /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp has this line: (network-script 'network-bridge netdev=wan') xen comes up and works fine with this device bridged, but this happens (the leading "0" is the return code of the previous process): 0 zorro:~# /etc/init.d/xend restart Restartin...
